I don't think I'd race that, I'd just try and survive. Plus I'm busy on the 23th.

This looks right up my strasse.

i hope you're thinking of doing this on a fixed 29er

What are you planning for your qualifying ride? Lakeland 200?
-
• #7
Hell,yes..... digs out the Whyte 146s, and starts planning, ......two weeks next year.........now when are there no midges????

''now when are there no midges????''
When everything looks like this.
-
• #9
hardy scottish highland midges
-
• #10
the toughest midges on earth
-
• #11
That looks amazing.

Paris-Brest-Paris is kind of getting in the way of doing this next year. Depending on what stupid ideas I get about TCR in 2016, I might see about it then. Still an awesome looking event.

2017 is go! Here's the tracking http://trackleaders.com/highland17

• #15
I'm guessing its much drier going than previous years?
-
• #16
There were torrential rains and thunderstorms here in Glasgow yesterday, though only intermittently. Could be drier up north though. At least it is still warm.

Looks like gabes has scratched?
-
• #18
Yep. Hope he's ok
-
• #19
Bugger. Was his knee playing up?
-
• #20
Sadly, yes. Posted on Instagram that his knee injury flared up again. He rode back to the start, and it's worsened so looks like he made the right decision.
-
• #21
That's a shame!
-
• #22
Ah, balls, that sucks. I hope he can get it sorted out before his next race.
-
• #23
Bad luck Gabes! Rest easy!
-
• #24
So Neil Beltchenko has finished in a time of 3:10:24, which I think is a new record by some margin.

First* winter attempt: http://phased.co.uk/the-highland-trail-first-winter-attempt/
*turns out it's actually the second, someone else tried it a couple of weeks before this and made it a little bit further before pulling the plug
I'm having rather dangerous thoughts about this ride

Anybody fancy racing?
