Bravo!! Top gusset p0rn. I love the way the lugs fade into the filler on the head tube. Very nicely executed.

Campagnolo Super Record, with a big ass chainring up front. If you would do this, I have a NOS 56T chainring laying around.

SR would be a little early? But agree it needs a "big dog" up front.
What's the rear OLD?

7 speed 12-18 straight through block with 56/48 up front should do nicely! It would probably stretch to 130, but why would you?
Congratulations for restoring a thing of beauty.

Yes, at 126mm it would originally have been six or seven speed. Being steel, it will happily take eight though.
SR wouldn't be "wrong", but IMHO it would look a little dated (but very nice). First gen. Record is obvious, but expensive: first gen. Chorus would be the savvy choice (Monoplaners trounce Delta for me).
Just to throw a curved ball: AX? Contemporary with SR, but ahead of the game and NOS is still quite readily available and affordable.
PS While I remember: #DIBS.

AX is a good shout, although the oversize pedal threads are a ballache. How about Mavic - Starfish etc?

I see crank/pedal converters on eBay quite often.
Tout Mavic? Yes to this.
As lovely as the old Campag is, I do like to see something else from time to time...

It's sometimes nice to see a part mix up showing that a bike has evolved over the year as better parts are released & favoured parts kept.
Quite: it's always nice to see a complete group, but when bikes like this were being used in anger, they wouldn't have been so particular.
Either way, I can't wait to get my hands on it! :)
