I know but he would have had to give it a period of complete rest or at least been off the bike for 2 weeks and I doubt he will have been able to do any high wattage work for a while after that. Holding on to form for that long is very difficult even when you are fully able to train....
I'm just going to say it - right now, Froomes form looks believable. Contador's looks fishy as fuck. That might change in the next week and you can all quote this to your hearts content...

I would also say that Valverde looks fishy too.
But then: "Shock news: world is round"...

Both Froome and Contador have deficits to make up to teams/sponsors this season... I think Froome is just as likely to be bending or breaking rules as Contador at this point, he maybe just didn't gub enough salbutamol and goat-nip pre-race to see him match his Spanish nemisis' drug paella.

Well, there won't be any nairo jnrs scampering around the Colombian mountains on tiny canyons any time soon after that...

Did many switch from road to TT bikes at the top of the hill?I only saw Anacona change. Thought there would be more doing it. Fully expected Froome to use both bikes..

How the heck do you snap a saddle off like that?

Ride it into a barrier at 30mph?

I hope he didn't lodge his peen and clockweights behind the saddle before the crash, "hooking" it off. If you watch it he's shifting a lot just before the impact (understandably).

I think he just tried to activate the emergency eject and fucked it up.

It took me a few seconds of looking at @Thrasher's pic to realise that it wasn't sparks coming from Quintana's helmet.

serves him right for riding hoke's bike in the TT

Ooo. Nice.

Funny that Quintana blamed his brakes for that crash. Yeah. Right....
-
• #145
Looking at Contador yesterday - his little jumps back in the saddle at high cadence seem even more pronounced. Surely Specialized with all their tech could design him a saddle with something to hold him in place on the nose?
-
• #146
i think a few people misquoted that-he said he too the wrong line and braked too hard trying to correct, not that his brakes failed.
he also said 'estoy jojido' or, 'I'm fucked' which is refreshingly candid...
-
• #147
I'm not sure it's a misquote - he said it when interviewed on camera after the stage.

Ah. In any case the "you're in the driving seat.."
"No YOU are"
"No I'm INJURED"Dialogue has absorbed another contender. £10 says valverde weasels his way back into red.
No.
Next question...
