Saw a few "Beware of passing on the left side of this vehicle" stickers on a lorry this morning. Good to see them slowly rolling out!
Edit: Mind you, buses are still sporting stay back stickers.

there doesn't seem to be much of a concerted effort to remove these wretched things from any busses despite TfL's alleged commitment to doing so.
spotted a 'cyclists DO NOT pass this vehicle on the left' sticker on a hire bike van this morning. so they're replacing a shit idea with an even worse one?

If your journey takes a little longer because you avoided a potential risk, what's the problem? both stickers are fine.

Yeah but where in that approach is the opportunity for righteous indignation? Do keep up.

Hang on william1984 I think there's a thread round here somewhere that has an in depth analytical conversation about the pros and cons of using such imperative language on similar stickers.
Let me find it for you.
Oh yeah, ^ here it is. Right fucking here.

You know William, they could put stickers on the back of vehicles reading 'Don't run in to the back of me on purpose' and you would find a way to disagree with whatever most other people thought of them. There could be stickers outside cemeteries reading 'No crying at the gravesides' and you would find yourself somehow suggesting that, indeed, crying at a graveside is a bad thing.
It's a good job no one has ever told you not to jump out of a window. -

TfL's head of freight, Glen Davis, reaffirmed this commitment at a presentation to the APPCG yesterday and explained the rationale behind this to the group
I think it is easier / quicker for TfL to insist of their removal from lorries who belong to FORS rather than the bus companies though bus companies should be doing this soon. If not charlie_lcc and others will, no doubt, move to hasten this

Stopped behind a bus the other day I thought about trying to peel the sticker off as I waited for the lights. Anyone tried this, are they hard to remove?

I had a go at this on new oxford street while trailing a double decker. They are fairly well attached but if your following a bus for long enough, maybe 5 minutes, then should be able to do something positive.

Been so tempted but I'd prefer to just sticker over the top of them.

I'm going to buy a "if you can't see my mirrors" type sticker and as I don't have mirrors I'm then sure I can do whatever I want and just point at the sticker...

There's a bunch of Camden council transit vans parked up outside - most of which have 'stay back' stickers on them.
Twats.

This, I always find myself wishing I had a 'stay awesome' sticker to put over the 'stay back'

It's not righteous indignation. it's:
in depth analytical conversation about the pros and cons of using such imperative language on similar stickers.
And you cunts are all wrong and I'm right so there.

They bloody well should. Jolly good advice.

I acted. Once. The other day. Felt like a pratt, tbh. Got the next one ready, in hoody pocket, riding on OKR, and the wind took it. Felt as if Thor was trying to tell me something.

Keep it up.

They've just put them on the back of our fire engines......I, 'ahem' don't think the adhesive is very strong though
-
• #248
It would be good if they put them on the front of fire engines and ambulances in reverse writing. A slogan like
"Keep Out of the Way. This appliance may move quickly"
I would appreciate advice like that.
