  • very much interested in this as i'm placing an order to either orlo or rych later in the summer depending on queues..

    how's the communication with rychtarski?
really like the previous builds and the road disc is probably a good choice. any knowledge whether it's possible to get sliders from rych as it'll be a ss build with gear option?

  • loving all these gravel, cx, road, carbon forked chunky tyre mutants popping up, makes me wanna go smash some trails and get muddy!

  • This looks interesting.

  • FFF: Many short messages back and forth. Haven't had any real problems communicating though. Just make sure you're specific about what you want.

townshend1989: The best kind of bikes.

  • This is going to be a great bike.

    psee, why no mudguard mounts?

    Also, further inspiration:
Endpoint coffee grinder which looks similar in purpose / versatility to what you are building.

    A write up of a build: http://ergottwheels.blogspot.co.uk/

  • Joe, it will have mudguard mounts, at least in the back. Unfortunately there's no eyelets on the carbon forks so i'll probably use one of those thingys you attach to the QR axle when i actually do want to use a mudguard.

Yeah, the Endpoint has been an inspiration as well.

  • Forks - how about Whisky No. 7? Similar weight but with fender mounts. A bit more expensive though.

  • Awesome, subbed. I've got one if these frames in the post, much excitement! As for disc brakes, I can recommend the trp spyres.

  • Joe, Was looking at some Whisky forks at first. But got a good deal on these Columbus ones as Rychtarski stocked them. It's also nice having them painted in the same color as the frame.

It'll be ridden without guards 90% of the time so it's not that big of an issue.

Russmeyer, Yeah. I think i'll go with with the Spyres.

    Thos Fel forks are lovely.

  • Further more, whats Rychtarski like compared to Orlowski

Sorry for thread hijack, but just for reference, I was in contact with both orlowski and rychtarski recently (before I found a slightly used rychtarski frame at a bargainous price). Orlowski is definitely the cheaper of the two:

"750 for zona frame set. Lugged or not with fork. Shipment will be included"

    Rychtarski came back with this:

"For Columbus Zona, Life, SL frame the price is 750 euro
For Columbus Spirit, MAX frame the price is 800 euro.
    Filet brazed cost 100 more.
We have only Columbus carbon forks."

  • Rychtarski isn't doing MAX forks?

  • Maybe a slight price increase.

I paid 835€ for my current Rychtarski. That's with Fillet brazing, MAX Frame+Fork, Paint and Shipping included.

Still mucho cheapo for custom. Great value both of them.

  • Orlowski learned to build frames under Rychtarski - Which may explain the difference in price.

  • Looking at FB page, looks like this frame is being built at the moment.

Btw, what is the diameter of the downtube?

  • I think it's the Zona 29'r tubing they're using, so the downtube should be 35mm.

  • Some progress.

    Decided on a greyish color.

    Some Color.

Also ordered some Kinesis Crosslight Wheels.

  • droolworthy

  • This looks so fucking nice. Subbed

  • To be shipped.

No custom Rychtarski is without minor things you wonder how they decided upon. This time they chose to use a brake bridge for caliper brakes, with a hole that clearly won't be used. Also two eyelets even though it hasn't got any rack mounts.

No real issues. Just questionmarks and an advice for future customers to be VERY clear about details.

Have received the Spyre brakes, Kinesis wheels, and some other small stuff.

  • Amazing colour and decal combo; loving the new headbadge

    Will end up on radvist

Also is this Di2 ready? Whats the hole on DT?

  • Amey. No plan on running Di2. The hole is for the rear brake cable.

  • wait up, with the brake hole and the extra mount you could get yourself a brake hole mounted rack right?

    right?

they are just expanding horizons for you... ;)

  • won't the brake hole just make mudguard mounting easier/more secure?

  • Ideally it would've just been a straight bridge with a threaded eyelet underneath. Which would've been more subtle, but yes, i could just throw a bolt in there when i'm running mudguards.
