  • Funny that. I despise it.

That looking to be a solid build. Did you go for Paul hubs in the end?

  • I've been trying to get an 8bar lazer for a few weeks now, but I am actually tempted to get one of these, it won't be quite as head turning, but £199 for a 7005 alu frame is very very tempting.

  • Not at the moment Chack, these are just temporary wheels until I can save some cash for some serious kit like Phil, Paul or Dura ace etc, though I do actually quite like the look of them now they're on...

And Stern, I would recommend them, for the price what you get is really good, the matt finish is so nice as well. But if you want one I'd make your mind up soon because I had to wait for quite a long time until they received their shipment and they don't get them that often I don't think.

  • Thanks, I'll be ordering mine tomorrow probably. Loving your build by the way, also will be going for the omnoms. I imagine the frame with those stiff cranks will accelerate like a bat out of hell

  • Hopefully! May also upgrade chain ring to a ZEN...

  • There's a sweet omnom incl. gxp bb + Zen deal for 150£ in classifields - sell the Omnom for 110 and keep the Zen [in so many ways].

  • Looks incredible!

  • If its the same one im thinking of Thuekr, they're silver right? great deal but would be after a black one. and thanks Drasty!

  • I was in exactly the same boat, but Dolan seems to be a solid deal.

Saying that, I tried installing the BB last night and the threads are misaligned..so already have my LBS chasing them...

  • I had a heart attack moment when my bb wouldn't go in and thought I had the wrong threads as it went in a bit then stuck, but it was actually just some dirt or something in the threads, try a bit of wd-40 on the threads if it looks like they have something stuck in them?

  • The latest arrivals, EAI steel cog, Dura Ace NJS lock ring and 25mm gators

Ordered Deda stem, carbon spacers and a temporary foot retention system which consists of Cinelli double straps and some plastic double cages, can't wait to upgrade it to MKS Fit Alpha Sport straps though!

  • Just a question, is the top of your headset flush with the head tube? Installed mine today and it's not quite flush, still works though. How about yours?

  • ^greased up and all that?

  • Head tube greased, no grease on the bearings themselves. Bottom bearing flush, it's just the dust cover isn't

  • Bumbumbum - you are doing it right. I can't help you further, but I bet there is a fix to it.

  • Yeah, I am taking it into my LBS soon to install my omnoms so I'll ask him to take a look at it. The good thing about integrated headsets is that you can just take it out and reseat the whole thing without too much hassle.

  • Fixed my problem Thuekr, ( My 3T Stem arrived so I changed them over and in doing so noticed the top bearing hadn't been seated level, so I reseated it and voila, the dust cap fits beautifully /noobmomentover.)

Anyway haven't heard from dave and his build recently

  • Excellent!

  • Glad you got sorted Stern, have been pretty busy so haven't had time for the forum (ahhh) but I finished the build today, pictures soon.

I've been having a few problems up the front too though, not the same as yours though. I've found that when tightening the headset, to stop rocking, it has to be (what I feel to be) really tight. And before anyone says this, I did tighten the top cap before the stem bolts. I'm stumped.

  • Are the bearings in the top and bottom perfect level - compression ring installed? :]

  • Nice to hear! Can't wait to see it. Got my bars, stem and saddle now. Also waiting for my omniums which I had imported from america, they should be on tomorrow. Also debating on mavic open pros vs archetypes. Not sure about that headset problem though

  • ^arcs

  • +1 for arcs! what you lacing them too?

Headset is all level, and yea the compression ring is on, will look further into it though, it would be like me to put it on upside down or something stupid... Shall take the best picture I can of the setup

  • Maybe get your lbs too have a quick check? Sure they won't charge.

Got myself two metallic red diacompe gran compes for some colour on what is an all black bike. Can't wait to get them built up!
