where is this at now?
still messing around with the leaf? -
• #178
It's in my spare room with the kittens climbing through the wheels right now- I need to strip it, re-do the primer, then leaf it.

Does anyone know the RAL for primer grey? i.e. the grey of the bike in the pictures?
Primer itself is not terrifically hard wearing, so I'm going to paint this properly.

7046 for a cool grey
7030 for a warm grey
7005 for a darker more neutral greyYou're welcome to come and look through my RAL chart.
I don't have any primer here as a reference so I could be way off, there are loads of shades to ch0ose from.

I told Matt to buy a RAL chart about 6 weeks ago! They're only £30/£40.
You can't just ask for a code for 'primer grey'... You need to get a chart and compare the swatch to the colour on the bike. -

The grey I want I saw the other day on a Ferrari which was parked on the street near my office.
How vague is that? Non-metallic, dark grey.

Nah, asking online on a forum is better.

A wee sample would be useful.

He needs a paint colour, not a diabetes test.

Test rode this today:
It's a disc braked variant of the Dalsnibba, which we've called the Trollstigen after an amazing climb in Norway that we've done the last couple of years.
My Dalsnibba has been updated and should be getting painted next week - really looking forward to getting it back.

Rad. Could probably get into my uni's studio to shoot some pictures like I did for hoops if you're interested

Very nice! What color did you go for Neil?

Check out slate grey for a 1970ish porsche (steve mcqueens for example). A wonderful non metallic grey imo (unless you decided allrdy).

That's amazing. Talbot will be seeing me very soon.
How practical is it to travel with a bike with an ISP? -
• #198
That depends on a raft of factors - for me (187cm), with my newly purchased Evoc bike bag, not a chance.
With my old case which I sold the other day it would have been fine however.
Depends on the edge of chain-ring to top-of-ISP measurement, and the size of your bike/case, essentially.

Broke mine out of storage last weekend.

Sell it to me, please.
My less than incredible photography fails to show that there are recesses in the current prototypes for the cable, we were planning on using a small O-ring to seal the cable entry point.
We did try to make a lip on the underside, but I don't think the resolution of the print worked very well with that- but that's fine, this is R&D.
So we have lots of little refinements to make, but the big change is that I really want to lose the 1cm square clamping part, as without that I think they will look (relatively) elegant.
I'll get them printed in black next time, also.
