  • I like those Specialized Tri-Cross.

One of my workmates at one in that colourscheme (2010/2011 IIRC) and had issues with the forks which were shuddering under heavy braking.

He contacted Specialized and the batch had a recall so he got brand new forks.

Would be worth checking if your forks were not build in the same batch.

  • So, finished then. I had a budget of £350 for this, went slightly over but not by much as I had pedals, bars, saddle, tyres in a spares box.

I took Amey's point about those S-Works decals they needed to be bigger right enough. Im really happy with the way its turned out but Id like to get some lightweight wheels in the future...

  • Nice build mate!

  • Yeah, like this!

  • They're a big (evil?) corporation.
    They're a bit boring/unimaginative.
They built their name from good quality, well designed, forward thinking bikes then threw it all away in the name of profit (far from alone in this I know).
They're very indicative of the "you need a carbon racer with DI2 to commute to work" culture perpetuated by the UK's cycle industry.
The down tube barrel adjusters are always seized on them - indicative of the type of rider that buys them and the type of use they get.
They used an indecipherable combination of shite quality headset components for a while meaning that once the original shit the bed it was mission impossible to remove the old one and clean everything up adequately and virtually impossible to get a properly fitting replacement.

Big? Compared to some bloke welding frames in his shed, sure. Compared to actual big corps, not so much. And unlike most of the Italian crap, they don't pretend to be built by Mario and co.

Boring? They do far more design and development than the companies bonding carbon tubes together. Look at the Shivs and their aero testing.

Wrong. If that was actually the case, why would they build stuff like Langsters and even steel Langsters?

Your last two points are judging a bike manufacturer because of some people not maintaining some parts of their bikes? Really?

  • Love the build, forks make me think of...
