Exactly. These are 26.0mm.

• #103
Oh okay. I didn't realise you had a 26.0mm stem.
-
• #104
can't wait to see that finished!

can't wait to see that finished!
Neither can I!
Ordered the final bits, some Swisstop Yellow pads, Park Tool SR-18 and Lockring tool, new inner tubes and 1/18th Top cap.
Should have all this by the end of the week and then will be able to build up on the weekend! COME ON NOW!

That stem, what kind is it?
-
• #107
It's an old Thomson Elite, 5 degree rise with a nice 26.0mm clamp!
-
• #108
you using an ahead converter on it?
-
• #109
Carbon thread less fork I think.
-
• #110
Got a Mizuno 1" but I want a Thomson stem like above fitted so I need a converter on mine (new project, not the concorde)
-
• #111
No converter needed, just a threadless headset and a shim.
-
• #112
Is this the bike you rode to the pub? If so, nice one! (cant see the pics because work)

Are the shims readily available somewhere?
-
• #114
Yeah, both Nitto and thomson make them but I found that the steerer from some modern steel 1 1/8 fork fitted perfectly, maybe you have some off cuts?
I can have a look around here and let you know if I have any.

Cheers Indra, will get a shim from SJS I reckon. Sorry for the derailment Matt!
-
• #116
Has this been revolved yet?
-
• #117
Derailment is cool, its giving me a nudge to complete this!
I'm running a threadless 1inch fork on this, I got an M:Part steerer shim for the Thomson stem seems to work fine. Remember you'll need a 1/18th top cap though.

depending which forks you have, using one of those thomsons on a carbon steerer is not a great idea
