During my coffee pre-commute I had a look at the newly updated NJS export which they seem to do every month and saw this:
It was $300 cheaper than another similar Samson listed (very small ding to the TT), it has the newer, larger Samson graphics, Modern 120mm rear drop outs and was built in 2010.
Gabe at NJS Export was really helpful with the transaction and we agreed a "a good shipping and import" price (PM me for details).
Ordered on the Tuesday and received the following Thursday I think....
The colour out of the box is awesome! Very vivid orange with a beautiful rainbow sparkle which makes the paint almost pearlescent in sunlight. The details on the BB and rear stays is fecking sweet!

Shinkuu Kissss of this parish, managed to find the keirin rider of this frame:
And anyone who knows their Japanese:
http://keirin.jp/pc/dfw/dataplaza/guest/membprofile?SNO=014380
We are pretty much the same height which is reassuring, I am however not an athletic Keirin rider!
I've had this for 2 maybe 3 weeks now I think, and have managed in that time to accumulate a few parts.
This is was never going to be a standard NJS build, taking inspiration from the the above Nagasawa build. Road drops with road (single speed levers) meaning a fast road fixed:
build List so far:
San Marco Laser suede saddle
27.2 USE Alien Carbon Seatpost
Thomson Elite 100mm Stem
Pink CK Threadless Headset 1inch
Mizuno 1inch Carbon Fork
32h Paul Hubs (Rear Single Fixed)
Dura Aace 7710 Cranks
52t Black Zen
MKS Nuevo Clips and Straps
DID ChainYet to order:
32h Grey Anodised TB14's + Sapim Ray spokes
Grand Prix 4000's tyres
EAI Cog + Lockring (19t)
Soma Highway One Bars + Lizard Skinz tape
Kashimax TT Protector
Swisstop padsSram Levers
Need to order ether s500 or s900's. The 900's are double the price, do they feature a sprung return or not? or are you paying extra for the carbon only?Should have this built (fingers crossed before the Dunwich Dynamo!

Yay!@£$%

And what did the postie leave today?
Carbon forks wrapped in bubble wrap and paper! I opened these expecting the worst.....
Obviously Southern Italians and TNT actual handle with care!
Mizuno 1inch Carbon forks which will allow me to run a front brake without drilling the original Samson forks or running (in my opinion) and ugly looking Dia Compe clamp on break.
Rake is 45mm which, as you can see by this exact equation, should work fine clearance wise:
Just need the headset to arrive from the U.S.A. then I can start.....

Subscribed! I'm not convinced by the carbon forks but I look forward to being proved wrong. You should of got another set of forks from NJS export and drilled those.

I am convinced of those forks, this will be great!

Haha! Yo Dawg!
Ooooooft that paint and BB detail!! Storming frame dude :) what's plans? Practical you thinking?
Yep. Road drops and levers all the way! :)
Opted for the carbon forks for more Hipster points obvs! No, at 180mm head tube I'd be surprised if I could of got a second pair of steel forks second hand.
Going with the carbon allows for an Ahead setup too which I think will work better and allow a quick change of setup too between bars/stems.

I was looking at that frame on NJS Export and saw it had gone. I'm still looking at the 59cm version. Very tempting and a very nice frame.

really happy this got a thread :)
also like where you are going with practical reasoning, building a full NJS to hang it on the wall is a thing you can consider when you retire :) -

Really lovely frame, very jealous. I'm looking forward to how this turns out, its certainly a different twist on an NJS build.

You know I got first dibs right?
Stonking!

Looks like it's going to be an interesting build.
All this made me spend an hour last night looking at frames on NJS Export. So far I keep telling myself I don't need another fixed bike, but that may change. -

You do know you can get clamp on front brake kits.
They work very well, it's what the Keirin riders use when hill training.

Oh a clamp on brake! Sorry, I thought you hadn't finished that sentence.
Jk. Sorry, missed that part. I think they look purposeful, but each to their own. Carry on.

Will keep an eye on this. Surprised the delivery was so quick! There are a few frames on NJS at the moment that will fit me... must resist! Ha ha
Well, I've given into the massive peer pressure (3 people) and started a thread all of its own as a few on here seemed interested, I've also had a few PM's about my experience's with NJS Export so here goes....
....I've lusted over NJS frames ever since I was at Uni several years ago, and built-up a subconscious lust for one with a sparkly and garish paint-job. I'm a long time lover of Italian steel but fell in love with the exotics of Japense steel.
I first saw this 'Naga - a few years back which got me thinking:
Practical Keirin Bike?
I've always followed the full NJS builds closely and love the attention to detail some of your guys pay to each build. Dick's Pink Nagasawa is another classic as was this build recently on Pedal Room:
Which said to me, I definitely need a Samson.
It's Uber Rare that a decent condition Samson comes up in my size (58cm), I trawled eBay (before that Pedal Room picture) for around 6 months looking - nothing. Until NJS Export came up trumps....
