  • lol just realised my build has made its way into the anti thread lol

  • hahaha

  • Things have been said.

I hope you're enjoying the bike, when you're new here it's hard to not get wound up about online things, I did a lot and got a bit rude (probably still do a bit too much) but now I kinda just try to avoid it all and enjoy riding my bikes. Hope you do too, everyone on here is a lot nicer IRL.

Come on some rides/events and you'll see the most fun side to this forum.

  • Yeah man i am enjoying it, puts a little smile on my face and lets me escape from normal everyday life ive probably racked up 200 miles + in less than 4 days.

Yes i was probably a little annoyed at first but i kinda get how the forum works now, im sure everybody is nicer in real life because i would never argue or squabble like this in the real world either or maybe we are all a bunch of dickheads deep down but never display it in public, but let out our inner dickheadness online lol.

  • Hey, hey! I'm not a dickhead(?) :(

    Yeah you are ;)

  • Yeah you are and so am i ;)

  • Why not have bot risers and drops? Worked for this guy...

  • Saddle too high

    True.
That photo was from maybe the fourth or fifth outing for that bike.
    Still experimenting.
Still tweaking height and position for comfort.
That saddle height wasn't comfortable for certain.

FWIW, even though they're comfortable for cruising, I've found it more difficult to skid stop with narrow risers because I can't shift my weight around on the bike as well as I can with pursuit bars for example.

I have a track cockpit ready for when I'm comfortable enough to give it a try.
    /csb

Try different setups (but don't go too skrtluv on it).
Listen to advice on the forum because you can't put a value on the experience and wealth of knowledge to be found here BUT don't take everything as gospel... some people are full of shit and not everyone rides in the same way.

  • Same here, been through a dozen setups with my risers and drops but i keep coming back to the drops as i feel they give me better control when i skid stop, still tweaking the stem height and bar angle, dropped it another 5mm yesterday.

Now Im looking to get my hands on some pursuit bars to see how i get on with them.

I totally agree the forum Has a lot of knowledge, ive been reading a lot of the threads on the mechanics section which has helped me a lot, but like you said everybody rides different and what works for other people may not work for me vice versa...

Anyway, when are we having a planet x party/ride? I see there are a lot of planet x builds and owners on here, it would be great if we all sorted out a day and went for nice ride.

lol, might work for you too

  • I'm in the process of building up a black PX carbon track and was considering an 88mm China special rear wheel but I'm still undecided whether it suits it or not. Could be the matt and gloss finishes on the go at once.

Is Privatepatterson's the same depth? Wondering how a 60mm carbon rear would look on it.

  • Ey up lad.
My rear is 88mm chinese crabon.
    Front is 60mm.

  • Gotcha, looks more cohesive on yours that on BMLs but that could be down to angles of pictures taken and matching matt finishes on yours. 88mm is back on the option list.

  • Im hopefully going to get the rear wheel glossed to get things looking more uniform. mismatched wheels look ok if the finish is the same, like pp's wheels.

  • Tribute to Badman

  • Hahaha, looking good bro, i got lots of spare spacers if you need lol

  • Thuekr!
    What kind fork is that?!
