I could buy a Hi-Mod Supersix for £1,500, and it would be here this week. No custom frame would be better than that.

I'm kinda shocked that frames still come with built in hangers. Seems crazy.
Was the frame new when you bought it? I d have thought c'dale were pretty good at replacing things.

I chat good chat, but I'm not actually that much of a buyer. In the past 3-4 months I've purchased a bottle of lube, a new cassette and chain and some glove liners...
@howard is right, it's not a built in hanger, it's just that the hanger snapped in the wrong place and took a chunk of dropout with it.
I've spoken to CSG, and they've offered me SuperSix Hi-Mod with £200 knocked off the trade price, although this would be on the proviso that I return my frame so they can take it off the road. Whilst I'd love a Hi-Mod, and getting the frame would give me the opportunity to repaint it before it's built up, it's still a lot of money which I'm not sure I can or should spend...
Still waiting for CBR to get back to me about the drop-out. That might make my mind up.

If you got the super six could you not just get one in a colourway you like/don't mind and save the £120-500(?) it would cost for a decent custom paint job?

Unfortunately, the only colour scheme of the SuperSix's which I currently like is on the SuperSix Evo Red model, and I don't think they retail that independently.
To be honest, I've always been a fan of ludicrous paint jobs, and if I can get something like the Starmac or the DSC Omnium then I'd be a super happy bunny. If I'm spending a stupid amount on a Pro-level race frame, I might as well go all out and make it rad.

I thought you need to be more flexible to go down a size given the stack ..
Given the smaller frame's similar reach but lower stack, one might rightfully assume that Cavendish has switched by suggestion of his fitter in order to get himself even lower and more aerodynamic during sprint finishes.

Stack and reach are 6 and 10mm shorter on the 48 compared to 50.

No, it would just increase the reach slightly in a larger size, by about 15mm. Stem height wouldn't be affected, I don't think.
Going on the admittedly poor system of stack and reach, in a perfect world for my current flexibility I would have about 525 Stack and 360 Reach. Have fun finding that though.

47cm Emonda, 48cm Cervelo R and XS Endurace CF come very close .. I like this game.
Basically this whole 'endurace' bike fit.

Cervelo is right on the reach, but has worse stack. I'm also not a particular fan of Cervelo.
Edmonda SLR H2 looks about right in the numbers, but a 47cm frame in compact geo is going to look soooooooo shite.
You've also got to factor in the price. With a CR discount, a Hi-Mod is ~2k cheaper than an Edmona.

Endurace in XS actually has too much stack!
I can touch my toes at the end of an hour of pilates at the moment, and that's after a year of stretching daily. In about June, I could barely touch my knees. Hopefully in another 6 months I should have even more hip flexibility and hamstring extension, so having ~30mm of spacers at present isn't the worst compromise.

You're bang on for reach and stack, but unfortunately I can't bring myself to ride one of those grotesque things.
Also, they only do the disc version as a framesets #savedbytherotor

I have been stretching regularly and not as much (or as serious) as you but the changes were pretty quick; esp the toe touching bit which I couldnt all my life but now I can. I am fatter than you. Does it mean that physiological changes have their own pace and totally independent of how fat your are?

Bad luck on the crash... wet leaves and ice in epping are always sketchy at this time of year. At least it was the bike and not you that needs repairing.
I would look for the cheapest stop gap frame you can get (borrow one if you can) and then take your time plotting the bike you actually want in the right colour and size.
If your set on a custom paint scheme it would make sense to look at manufacturers that offer it as part of the package Vs voiding a dale / cervelo warranty off the bat. I have had issues with cervelo BB shells that failed without good reason. Nice to have the fallback of a new frame.
Cheaper route could be buying a secondhand frame from a smaller manufacturer that will inspect it and refinish it for a fee and transfer the warranty in some cases.
