2014-04-03 - Rider Down/Fatality, Farringdon St junction with Fleet Street

Oh dear, I am shaking a bit for some reasons... it just happened shortly after I cycled pass there... it's horrible round there recently, everyone is fighting for the roads... sad day...

Harrowing. RIP rider.

Seen plenty of close-calls on that junction, this was horribly inevitable at some point.

Another tragedy, rest in peace.

Just walked past, saw police, big lorry parked in the middle of the road, makes me feel sick, such a waste of life ...

Fuck. RIP.

That's on my commute but thankfully I didn't have to go in to the office this morning.
That junction is properly grim - I've been so close to being taken out there on many occasions.

My thoughts and prayers are with the rider's family and friend and with everyone else in anyway connected to cycling or cyclists who live under the shadow of such awful incidents in the knowledge that, through no fault of their own, they or their loved ones could also fall victim to such a fate at any time.

Look at the size of that truck. Should have no business being on the roads in the rush hour.

Just saw a blood courier heading towards this incident, although agree with the others that it looked very bad indeed.

Based upon the other news in the thread, I guess the courier was just a coincidence. RIP.

So sad. It makes my blood run cold that this can happen as often as it does. It's not right that vehicles that large should be in such close proximity to people, particularly when they have a track record of killing.
