• Paid Kev.

  • Got it. Team list updated.

Sorry about the truncated team names, but it will help me with the spreadsheet / timetabling.

Also, at some point closer to the time, if we dont reach 16 teams, I might cut it off at 12 or 14 to keep things even.

  • um shit, this is the same weekend as the Dynamo. Got a decision to make....

  • What's times you looking to finish up? Is there World Cup games on in the eve?

  • Yeah the world cup final is on at 8pm (?) on the Sunday evening. I plan to have us wrapped up a couple of hours before that. See the OP.

  • Any more takers? This is happening in two weeks' time. Only eleven teams so far, be nice to get fourteen or even a dozen.

um shit, this is the same weekend as the Dynamo. Got a decision to make....

Have you made that decision yet?

  • I'm half keen. Only half though.

  • With so few teams shall we make this into a one day event?

It would be cool to have the Sunday off for World Cup and NAHBPC finals.

  • Could have a beginners sessions day on the sunday or something?

  • If it where a one day thing I would be highly interested! I
    Can sub/form a team/etc.

  • Yeah like a Saturday would be awesome. There are few events on the Sunday which might make it difficult to attend. Don't know what anyone else feels?

  • Please be decisive/definitive ASAP - non-LDN have travel/accommodation issues to sort!

  • I'll make a final decision by Sunday.

Anyone who is interested in playing a possible one dayer should declare by then.

  • I much prefer the one day option

  • Maybe email all the teams see what they say?

  • If it where a one day thing I would be highly interested! I

    This.

  • 1day

  • If it is to be made into a one-dayer, then I'll have to cap it at 12 teams. If it's more there wont be time.

And - if its a one day thing, there will only be enough time for two round robin groups of six, and then a final between A1 and B1. ((5+4+3+2+1)*2)+1 = 31 games, barely enough time to cover it if it all runs according to plan and everyone shows up on time.

(We could play the remainder of the playoff games the following day at Westway, for those that want a second day)

I dont have a laptop or tablet with an internet connection so I cant do a swiss rounds in podium. Hence the two group format.

I am not particularly keen to change it because people have paid for two days, and some people are travelling, and we have the court paid for now for two days anyway... but have to accept that there will not be 16 teams registering for it.

At the moment, how do the four travelling teams feel about this? I'll PM you on Saturday if you havent posted up here.

At the moment, I'm only aware of two more people who want to play in a one-dayer, Josh and Cam.

I'll get more feedback and decide by Sunday.

  • Ben Punkture and Woody you need to pay me.

  • I'm more up for a one dayer

  • I'd rather it was 2 days like we signed up for.
Subs are an option if anyone can't do both days.

  • My preference would be a one dayer.

  • Have booked time off/accommodation on a two day basis already, hence still hoping for two days to prevail. Maybe as a compromise we can get commitment from other local teams/combos to play a fresh mini-tourney on the Sunday to get use out of the booked court/give more court time/value for committed non-LDN players??

  • Or you could come to Herne Hill and sample the delights of 1891 low octane throw in polo.

  • one day if poss?
