Unbelievable fun
Scoblebrick and Scoblestack action going on here. Much practical. So Surly. Many off road. Utilitarian. Wow.

what was the future proofing then?
Sounds like he whispered an incantation and then teabagged it with a possum's scrotum or something.

Yeah I need to adjust the fit. That was just how I received it. He was going to rebuild the front wheel onto an SP dynamo, but they were out of stock.

Y'know you got a 29ers wheelset on the Genesis that you can use on the Surly, right?
It's a lots lighter, like hella.

I know. But I don't know what a pair of 2.35"s will be like on those rims. Not exactly the widest are they? Pls reply to my PM pls pls pls
-
• #109
Jake, that wheelset was designed for mountain bike tyres, so yes, 2.35 will fit on it.
Will grab the tent out on Weds.

Thanks dude, yeah I know but I thought I'd need something wider. Gonna order some Big Apple's anyway and see how they sit on the rims.

Your last mountain bike likely to have super narrow rims by today standard and they were fine with 2.1 tyres (average size of a typical OTP mountain bikes).
I had a shitty wheelset on my last MTB with 2.2 tyres F&R, they work exactly as intended.

Rack was a tubus disco that I squashed and had reweld to fit on the front. -

On early shifts this week so I am home by about 17.15. There isn't really anywhere near home that is that interesting, unless I got the train straight to the Surrey Hills from London after work, however I do have Chobham Common or Horsell Common. Horsell Common is really flat and boring as anything, however Chobham Common has a few ups and downs. I went this evening and had a blast!
Riding a bike away from vehicles really is fantastic.

Give us a chance! It's only been out twice ;-) In all seriousness though, do the Hell of The North route. Great route, especially on your baik.

Holy crap this thing is so good in real life! Such a rad juxtaposition seeing it tearing through the City.

Thanks ed, Monday is good for me dude.
-
• #124
So where has this taken you recently - and what trips are planned in the future?
-
• #125
Lol. It has taken me nowhere! I've ridden it on tarmac more than I have off-road, I've just been so busy. I'm hoping to get away at some point this month but that may not be possible. I don't really know where either. June's a bit hectic so once I'm back up in london and settled I will probably head down to Dartmoor or summat and spend a weekend riding around there. I really have no idea yet.
How much does it actually weigh? 30+lbs?
