  • For the sake of 20 mins to change a couple of clinchers I'd opt for two sets- something nice for LVV only and use something tougher for Herne Hill. HHV can get a bit gritty in the winter, and the coaches at LVV can be precious about what you put on to the boards.

  • So, Gatorskins for HHV and Supersonics for LVV? ;)

  • A bit gritty... It doesn't turn into CS8! :)

  • Vittoria has a new range of track tyres in their graphene range; tubs and clinchers for the Pista and Pista Control. Claiming massive rolling resistannce improvements of course

•The new Pista Speed, with 320 TPI Corespun casing and slick tread, is designed for the pure speed track disciplines. This ultra-lightweight option weighs only 140g (19mm) to 160g (23mm).

•The new Pista,, with its 320 TPI Corespun casing and a unique asymmetric tread design, is the tire of choice for competition on all indoor track disciplines as it delivers on durability, speed and grip. It is available in tubular and now also in open tubular options.

•The new Pista Control, is an endurance track tire with a strong 290 TPI Corespun tubular or open tubular casing, also suitable for rougher (outdoor) track surfaces like concrete. The Graphene-enhanced compound in its modern, asymmetric tread pattern delivers speed and grip in specifically in the riding direction

  • Excellent timing by Vittoria there - I'm just about to buy some new track tyres.

I wonder when they'll actually be available.

  • I'm gonna spend all my time on HHV for 2017, I'm sticking with 23mm clincher, unless is there's a good reason to go tubular?
