Best ride to date. Moar hills please!

Great ride, great company, and home in time to catch the replay of the penalty shoot-out. Couldn't work out the result from the cheers coming from the various pubs going up the Farringdon Road, tho the miserable looking bloke in an orange hat riding his Dutch shopper home down Stroud Green Rd gave me an inkling.

^^^^ Sorry you missed the ride Howrad - in the station people keep a pretty close eye on the thread so probably just posting there will do it in the future.

Sorry to miss out, but was the right call in the end. Felt a bit weird in the afternoon, and totally bonked on my 8-mile commute home. Could barely turn the pedals over in my wooziness. Needz moar blood sugar.

What's whatsapp? Sounds new.
I don't like new.
I find new confusing and scary.
If you want me to consider it I'll need to see some facts and figures. Can you fax me over a report. Actually, scrap that, fax is out of paper and the chap who knows how to re-fill it is away, can you pop a copy in the post?
-
• #593
I'm out of stamps, I'll flag down an urchin and get him to run a copy over. Feel free to beat him if you suspect he dallied.
-
• #594
Whether he dallies or not I shall beat him out of principle, that's the only way to ensure way he will not dally in the future either. Pre-emptive punishment, it's what made this country great.

more likely though, as you old-guard need your brain cells for more considered thinking (!), instead of quick-fire question responses and scanning possible inane expression (of which i'm most guilty!), perhaps some young-punk members of TNRC/WNKR could volunteer their credentials (mobile phone #s) - just in case its useful..
{possible usefulness: ride participants in the WAG have each other's phone numbers via being members of the WAG}
.. but maybe its not..
its just that my phone is sometimes a little slow at loading the forum (or any page on the internet) - yet is pretty much seemingly real-time when people whatsapp me (think sms/txt but for more than one-to-one, many-to-many instead!)..
//
another thought about your reference to the Good Old Days (GODs for short!!) MoN,
why are there not more Lundun-towners jumping on trains from mutiple stations to make these rides.. how come TNRC was so popular in the GODs?!
can we bring this popularity back, or is it perfectly nice as a select, and on occasion [Surrey Hills when raining], two-man affair!!?
//
till the next ride / beer... :-) Zzz

Anyway ...
The weather is looking good for Wednesday, and I'd be up for riding, though I think this week is an off week.
Not sure if the Management have a view - if not, I might pick something southern and hilly.

Hmmm, standard operating procedure is to follow a hilly with a flat but seeing as this isn't a scheduled WNKR week I'm not sure that rule needs be followed. I have an idea for a Surrey variation I'd like to try but I haven't recced it. I'll have a proper look at it tomorrow and post it up, then we'll have to see if the mysterious controller gives it the green light.
Nope. I should come but family needs me tonight.
Have fun out there you people.
