strong form saying no to an easy train back! me, oli, blowfish and her pal jumped on the first train and i just assumed oli knew it was heading back towards london! thankfully the barriers were up at victoria, what a result!
thanks for the ride matt (and his female accomplice!) took me a little while to find my legs after booting it out of london to get there on time! think i still feel fucked from that alone let alone some of those hills!

Great ride. Really enjoyed those couple of pints. Thanks all!

Perhaps still a bit chilly for shorts...I do like that route though.
Thanks to Howard and Stefanie for letting me borrow lights. Feel like a bit of a mug with my expensive light which failed spectacularly :/
Will have to get it fixed and get a spare so I can be a Jimmy two lights like the pros.

True to form, as Jim and I split up, Garmin routed me over the first hill it could find.
Haha... I have to admit I did wonder why you turned west onto Honor Oak Park - which is listed on the London Classic route as "!!! LUNG BURSTING HILL!!! #2". It even still had the little pink arrow sign pointing it out! :)

Hah yeah. I quickly realised my error but thought I'd persevere. Garmin - erroneously believing I was keen - responded with Denmark Hill as a desert. F*cker!

I thought it was an excellent ride on Wednesday. Good group, good riding, no drama and a delicious pint at the end. Got to give respect to Rhowe who managed to make the ride after attending a leaving do, apparently a Thai Green Curry and a pint are ideal prep for a hilly 30 miler.
That Kent route is lovely. It was only the third time I'd done it so it's definitely going to be re-visited later in the year. Makes me want to do Kent 1 next as that is a cracking route too, but I suspect it will be something flat and northern. I shall insult the great oracle and we shall be told.

Hmmm, flat and northern...

Could've managed a pint at the end too actually - had a 15m wait for the train. Nice route, would do again. Welwyn's nice when the oilseed rape's flowering, just saying.

Good call, was thinking the same, we'll just have to see what the great coracle says.

Surely the ride for next week will go up tonight, ie now week in advance.
I predict the ride roulette wheel will land on the widow maker.
Unless we have other rides beginning with W. To be honest I was gazing at my mystic balls and kind of tuned out when things went a bit milky.

That was chunky. Cheers everyone, lovely ride. Route back was very fast. Or rather Jim was very fast. Or both.
