out (as ever!) but Oval is an inspired location for blasting around. no traffic to cross going anticlockwise, the harleyford sreet stretch is a bus lane and the rest is dead quiet. also Surrey aren't playing there saturday which would have made a difference!

Admittedly it would be a detour from your current route, but if the ride is to be truly Ballardian you should really visit those spaces underneath the Westway where 'Concrete Island' was based.

I did a ride like this ages ago, but I think my days of skidding around elevated Barbican walkways are over...
