  • Actually I just looked again and the red and blue options are far less visually offensive than I had expected. What colour are your other bikes? You will need to coordinate.

By the by I still have your knog-esque mini light. Sorry I've kept it so long. I keep thinking I'm going to bump into you at some event to return it but I haven't seen you in ages.

  • Cheers, Tom - that would be great to finish the beast off. Just been on PX and ordered a £20 PX slotted saddle, spacers and got a bargain pair of Look Keo adjustable pedals (i.e. not the "easy" ones), but they're "Exostar" or some nonsense thus cheaper coz of branding i guess.

Rich - my bad it's been aaaages since I've really seen anyone due to the usual excuses of work and lack of time blah blah. I'm sure we can catch up soon tho, with the loan interest on that Knog I'm going to be quids in ;-)

  • Both red and blue Preffisio framesets are quite cool, personally prefer them over the black and white one, as because of it's round white spots it looks a bit cheap.

  • Exustar is keo knockoffs innit. Not too shoddy though as they're also making the bodies for the Garmin Vectors, and they are Pricey.

  • I reckon you're making the right decision getting black Matt. The black and white will look quite classic.

    More importantly, bartape?

Edit: Nvm, just seen you're using Tom's white stuff

I keep meaning to buy myself a pair.

Bloody hell that is stupidly cheap

  • They'll do at £20, just didn't fancy robbing some off the lopro or the TT bike.

Nuts - I'm with you but everything seems to fit better around the black/white frameset.

  • Hovis - bartape is looking like white Fizik from Tom...

  • Reckon you went for a good choice with 105, I find it hard to tell the difference between 105 and Ultegra.

Especially since you can easily get Tiagra cassette for little money nowadays, just be wary of chain wear by checking them regularly before it wear out the entire drivetrain.

  • Roger that Ed, cheers. Never had 105 before, rocking Tiagra on the touring bike and was going to go for the same again but Ribble prices are bargainalicious.

  • Let the building/buying commence! =)

  • I think everything is bought or waiting in a pile of bits now except the frame. Soon...

  • Where did you buy the frame from?

  • Not bought it yet, tomorrow - from Dolan direct innit

  • Frame just ordered, should arrive tomorrow all being well by Parcelforce 24h :-)

Went for the blue in the end...

  • Looking forward to seeing it built up.

  • Dolan dispatched today :-)

  • If they're slow it'll arrive Saturday morning, otherwise you've got a trip to Dartford ;)

  • Yeah boi!!!!

  • Okay, all the bits were there on Saturday morning, I began building, I didn't stop building and took no photos. Le Velo, c'est complete!

I'll try to get a pic later today but rode it into work this morning and must say it's nice to have a road bike. The speed is effortless and it all just works. More than happy with my choices :-)

  • How are the shifters in your dinky little hands? How are the shifters anyway?! It must be so new and exciting for you!

  • Congrats! Well gel about your gears, will hopefully be joining that club once May comes along!

  • Yeah! Time to join RPR
