I had a sand blasted 2.8 that was ok afterwards. But you can't blast away like mad obviously, quite possible to erode right through the tube.

Mine was dipped in evil chemicals rather than being blasted- due to blasting being too aggressive for the frame.

That's good to hear. I sometimes think of CAADS like 911's, where generally they all look the same but just trust they're better.
