  • I love those bars, perfectly flat transition with SRAM. super comfy too.

  • i've got a set of Woodchippers in 46cm if anyone is intrested in them? £30 posted. i found the Bell Laps to be good, then i tried Midges and they were much better, Woody's don't do it for me so i'm back on Midges. i'd like to try some Cowbells mind....

I'd be very interested in these if BN isn't and you could hold on to them until Tuesday...

  • I had a set of woodchippers a couple of years ago, but could never get them in quite the right position, even though they were a comfortable angle.

I think the problem was that I couldn't raise them high enough. Dirt drops ideally place the drop position of the bar where you'd normally have a flat bar ( as in picture above ) and to do that on a bike my size would have required the mightiest scoblestack ever seen O.o

  • I think I have enough spacers and stem to pull it off on my Karate Monkey somewhere down the line...

  • They do feel great in the drops and allow you good control of the bike when riding off-road.

I'm just not flexible enough anymore :-)

  • I've got some on-one midges knocking about somewhere, so if anyone's interested in them drop me a PM.

  • I saw this with the rack bag flying over the junction of new north road and essex road last night - looks great

  • Cheers Apollo, been lookin for a decent bag for a while, emailed Jordan, he replied straight away, a deal has been struck, looks like I'm gettin a rando bag like yours. For a hand made product, not from the far east, the price he quoted seems pretty bob on.

    Hello!

were you on a light blue frame with a front rack?

  • purple and white Giant frame but yes with a front rack, I did a double take as you went by as I was just looking at this thread before I left work.

  • Cheers, are those the 46cm you have there?

    Ta mate.

44cm from centre of hoods, 50cm from centre of the end of the drops

  • I have some black A719s on Deore XT on the way, so if anyone wants my A319s on Deore LX, ping me a PM :)

    £70

  • why the change?

  • Probably because it suppose to be "better".

A719s are heavier than A319s too.

  • Another weak trolling attempt

  • What's the main difference then? they're both decent wheels.

  • A719s are heavier than A319s too.

Have you weighed them, Ed? A719 is quoted at 30g lighter than A319 :-/

  • Look like it, some site show A319 is 10g lighter, some 30g heavier, reckon you're spot on.

  • Mavic don't seem to list the weights on their own site. Then again, I'm not sure how reliable their quoted weights would be.

The Weightweenie database isn't much good for checking touring components :-)

  • What's the main difference then? they're both decent wheels.

new set is black, for a start.

XT hubs matches the brakes too

    A719 are lighter (as above)

The 719 also has a welded joint which has been milled to be smooth. I assume that the 319 is a pinned rim.

    better spokes

  • Regularly serviced hubs ;-)

  • Apollo - is your bag reinforced with correx or similar, or is it just the liner holding the shape?

  • The back and base are reinforced (i.e. the contact points), the sides, front and top are not.

  • Thanks

  • Can't wait to recieve mine. Jordan is gonna get it made this week.
