    I'm pretty sure about this as well...
    I sticked together some bin parts just for reference, I took a couple of pictures:

    I'd've thought because of the narrow BB? (it looks very narrow from pictures) that any wheel would have chain line issues, but you can dish a spoked wheel appropriately.

    The BB shell is 30mm wide :)
    Looking at Obree's and Moser's models I can understand that spoked wheels can't be used... But only dished specialized trispokes or disc wheels! Basically I need to find an engineer that can help me with this project :)

  • you really just need a freewheel disc or trispoke or whatever and space it correctly.

  • Dishing is adjusting spoke tension to move a rim evenly right or left along an axle. You cant't dish carbon trispoks, but you can space them how you please by adding/removing spacers on the axle to change the distance between locknuts. This is easy and any monkey with a cone spanner can do it.

    To use hazzus's wheel you'd also need to swap out the cassette-accepting freewheel for a track-cog-friendly threaded part, which requires finding that part (eBay or the supplier of a LBS) and going to a good LBS or some knowledgable forumenger with some experience of swapping out the bits.

  • I'm sorry and of course I thought dishing meant something completely different.
    My point was actually to thread the aluminium hub of the front trispoke to make the cog sit aprox 2cm from the middle of the wheel, giving me a correct chainline.
    Track spokes are a no-no because the thread is way too far from the point I actually need.
    I know already how to swap axles between front or back but my concern is that I can only use front wheels given the width of the hub itself.

    Yesterday I called the shop in Rome that sold this bike originally and this was a custom order to Moser from a customer that wanted a TT bike with the geo of the Francesco's 1994 hour record bike.
    The shop still has a picture of the bike when it was builded but unfortunately they don't have any internet connection to sent it to me.
    The guy said they'll try to contact the original owner and ask him to forward to me technical informations and the pictures as well.

    Apparently they used an Ambrosio lenticular wheel and they spaced it correctly.
    I hope next week I'll have some good news.

    the rear wheel is dead easy. do it the same way obree did. Ged yourself a threaded freewheel disc/trispoke/ or whatever. (hell go nab an old thread on freewheel road whell from your local co op to try if you dont believe me.) pull the freewheel body and all your spacers. respace to 100mm and tread on a cog and check chain line. if its good. If so bond cog to wheel (spnk offers an adhesive to do this with thre freewheel adapters) its basically the same way you adapt an old disc or specialized tri to a front wheel plus the addition of fitting a cog. then you are done. seriously its actually this simple.

    this will work with any erly freewheel, not cassette wheel.
