• ^ Completely lost on me, Oliver. Does Clive enjoy dressing up as Princess Di?

Clive is a massive.....royalist

Both of these.

• Oliver Schick is getting married?

• It's the Windsor Chocolate Theatre Cafe, and on their facebook page someone asked why it was so popular with cyclists and the Cafe responded.
that's the one, my club head there after every Saturday club ride, they opened a second branch in Henley a few months ago too, which is a lot larger but the service is just as good.

• I've been to that cafe before, didn't know it was well respected. It was definitely good though! I had feet warming soup and picked from an array of cakes. Enjoy!

• Man I need to check the ladies forum more often...am definitely up for this if I'm not working. Might also have converted one of my three fixed bikes (so unnecessary) into a road bike by then too!

Sunday List!

Does the ultra fun rule still stand that...if you are male and want to join, that you must wear a dress?
So should. :)

• Hello my little crown jewels,

In possibly the worst bit of ride organisation ever, I've encountered a couple of problems. These are:
1) I've been offered a bit of a last minute place in the Brighton Half marathon this weekend, which I should probably take up as the one I was meant to do this weekend got flooded. Which means I can't go to Windsor on sunday.
2) A very large proportion of the country is currently under water. This is the route (**http:// ridewithgps.com/ routes/ 3950591** - copy/paste link and remove spaces) I have planned to Windsor, which you can compare with the Environment Agency map of flooding. There's quite a lot of crossover.

So, there are some options...

1) Someone else takes over leading this ride on sunday - I would advise keeping a close eye on the water levels, however, and avoiding anywhere with a "severe" warning in place (this would involve some very creative route planning to get to Windsor, looking at the current map).
2) We reschedule, when hopefully wetsuits won't be needed and I won't be doing silly running stuff.
3) You ride to Brighton and cheer me on instead!! (actually, you would need to train to Brighton and ride back, as otherwise you'd need to be leaving London at silly o'clock)
4) You go somewhere completely different and not water logged but hopefully still with delicious hot chocolate.

Thoughts?

• 2) A very large proportion of the country is currently under water.

H2OTFU.

Err ...

I mean H2OTFD.

• I'll wait to see what others say but I would say lets reschedule this for a dryer time in the future!

I'd still be up for a ride of a similar distance on Sunday morning if anyone else is. We'd just need to work out where's best to go in order to avoid the really flooded places...

Good luck for the half marathon though!

• Not bad planning, just bad luck.

I second Caz's suggestion of rescheduling...unless you'd like a 'Ladies-in-waiting (for hats to run past) ride to Brighton?

1. Ride down to Brighton Saturday afternoon
2. Set up shop at Buddies ( http://www.buddies24hour.net/ )
3. Cheer hats on Sunday morning

What could possibly go wrong ... ?

• The idea of a 24 hour restaurant is plainly wrong.

• I agree that Windsor looks like a no-goer this weekend. They were even putting on bus replacement services into Paddington from Eton today and there's still more rain to come.

I'm still happy to ride on Sunday, perhaps we can do one of the TNRC rides, Howard says the Essex loop is a nice one, without too many hills, and I think it's dry(ish) in that direction.

• I was just about to say I'm still up for a ride on Sunday as I'm at the bike show on the Saturday, when I checked the ticket and I'm actually going to the show on the Sunday.

For some reason I was convinced we were riding on Saturday, even though it's in my diary for Sunday!

Enny way........... I can ride on Saturday if that's an option.

Hat's enjoy your Brighton Half. I'll be with you in spirit, for about 30 mins, Sunday morning smile.

• Deffo up for an Essex loop on Sunday morning.

• Also deffo up for a decent ride anywhere else on Sunday. Would offer to plan / lead (I really want to do this at some point!) but having never done it before and lacking any kind of garmin or gps device I might find it tricky.

Happy to go wherever. Would love it we could do a 40/50 mile min. Maybe shorter with the option to ride back and double the distance? Need to stretch mah leeeeeeeeeegs! :)

• I've trawled the TNRC thread, and I think this is the route Howard recommended:

Ingatestone

There is one train an hour from Liverpool street on Sunday, so we could 10:02 train out.

• Aw I'm out. Reaally should use this Sun-spare day to sort this route out...

*shameless plug

• You could always rename the ride 'Ladies in Wading' and do it anyway. :)

• nsfw but there's actually a "thing" called women in waders... i am surprised...

• rule 34

• The Windsor to London train line is currently closed due to water so couldn't go ahead regardless : /

I can vouch for the Ingatestone loop though - mostly very lovely and quiet and only the merest of bumps. Trains out of Liverpool St mean Brick Lane bagel pretty much obligatory too.

I have no idea about how Essex is doing water-wise though : /

Looks like Essex is fine on this map, Windsor/Staines is a bit biblical!
