Can someone explain this thread please?
just because there isn't a troupe of synchronised dancers on stage or some shouty blokes playing their instruments out of tune doesn't mean it's not music hippy
see post 24 for 21st century musician(s) can't work out if the other guys are his posse or band members !!

yeah amazing, dusty analogue to tape!
there's loads of similar stuff on Ghostbox records - I think Pye are part of The Advisory Circle also (or maybe just colloborate)
This is very Kraut Electronic

I'm not any wiser. Do we not already have a bunch of electronic music threads? Is this the knob twiddling one? Ambient? Soundscapes?
Merges with WTF and goes back to Techno thread

Well, "techno" is like the "functional bikes thread", whereas this is ..uh, well I don't know either.

Is this the knob twiddling one?
No, that would be "bike porn".
-
• #34
isn't this more knob twiddling than mixing / dj'ing
this is a list of all the threads we could have
-
• #35
Repost but well worth a watch
..very nice.
Though I'm listening to this for like an hour now, and am sort-of "constantly waiting for something to happen" as well...

HHSB shit that's probably un-listenable to other people but there are those that love the discomfort.
There's no point trying to label it Hippy, every blogger's tried and sounded like a dick.Post dub seclusion garage anyone?
Anyway, enough chit chat, more wonky stuff!

; )ha! I almost posted the same! yeah, I take your point - I do like that Jon Hopkins, but prefer more esoteric twiddling with no point - like Clark
Jon Hopkins kinda sounds like there should be a big chorus/break/drop or whatever, I guess because of some of the sort of sounds he is using

Always like this guy. Makes stuff that you sorta fall into. Doesn't chase the music.

I'm not sure if any of you listen to emptyset, but I enjoyed that latest Emptyset Fragment - YouTube
Also, I just discovered that they played at Berghain last year. That would have been rad I bet. (is it not this-thread-appropriate [is it too ...]?)

I went to that show at Berghain, it was part of CTM and was really good. I found their new record really underwhelming actually compared to the Demiurge / Medium stuff, it felt almost like they've done their thing to death.

^Love that album.
Bushwacka! - Bluntski - YouTube
Old Bushwacka's lined up to play Wiggle's 20th birthday party next month. Hopefully he can keep it together this time - he had to shy away from playing their NYE party due to being as floored as I've seen anybody.

I quite like that, similar to Ryoji Ikeda.

Broad church this thread?
Are we talking more stuff with 4/4 time signatures?
Kenton Slash Demon - Matter - YouTube
Eightball-got any suggestions similar to Pye Corner Audio? Fucking great it is.
