It's taken me about 3 geared bikes to figure out how to do it properly...
Youtube haha

my brother has an iphone app for adjusting gears. don't recall the name, but it was relatively helpful.

got 16/18 gears the 12/13T still needs perfecting.....
ive been trying for over an hour.....
-
• #84
Set the top and bottom with the limit screws, middle of the cassette is cable tension...
-
• #85
Ahh ok, I keep on shifting down to 12T to adjust tension as they were the sprockets giving me index troubles
Given up and gone to bed now
Will try again before maiden voyage tomorrow
Unless it's raining.......

Find the sprocket that gives you the best chainline and adjust your cable tension in that gear. Hanger alignment is also important. In some cases it's vital to be able to get all the gears properly.

Oof, now that is something! I'd lift the shifters a little bit for a more comfy ride, but hell yeah this looks good!
-
• #90
A friend just mentioned the hoods looked low, may try and lift but I dunno what that'll do to my tape :/
-
• #91
Agreed about the shifters but yeah, that looks sooo rad. Proper jealous!!
-
• #92
Looks brilliant! Only thing I'd change is a less negative stem.

• #93
Really fucking cool.

Amazing dude, favourite road bike I've seen in a while.
Know anyone selling the 55t 7700 chainset or where I can get one?
-

You've done a really nice job of that build. I've got to say I'm not a fan of earlier Dales due to a personal bad experiences of them living up to their nickname, but I guess if it's survived this far it's a good one .. Enjoy your ride

The stem is pretty much parallel to the top tube (-17), and i dont really like the look (aesthetically) of any increment of rise.
I guess the real test will be putting some serious miles in to see how comfy she is, as this is the purpose of this bike: being able to crunch some serious mile, seriously fast, yet in comparative comfort.
Some minor adjustments to make to brake pad alignment, cable crimp ends need popping on and may throw on a pink Chris King headset just for shear rad hipster logo loudness banter........otherwise shes smooth as unsalted butter....
cant wait for a nice long dry sunny ride

That's a very nice build indeed!
My girlfriend has a 1990 Criterium. It's a bit small for me but with the saddle raised, I love riding it.
