  • Is anyone cycling over from the very East? I'm thinking I might brave it and cycle all the way rather than do part on the overground.

  • How far is east is east for you?

  • Wanstead.

  • Hmm a few of us are probably coming from barking and beckton area. Which is your usual route to HH?

  • Which is your usual route to HH?

Never done it on two wheels before. I'd probably go via Bow Roundabout/ Mile End Road, so could meet you somewhere on the journey.

  • Cool, how about outside canning town station to avoid of hitting bow roundabout

  • That is do-able.

Please let me know what time. I will PM you my mobile number.

  • I might be in London when this is on........

I wonder if I can still fit into my lycra after months of fat shit American food

  • Well hopefully you're more tanned than two years ago...

  • Whoops felt like 2 years ago (mix up with two track events)

  • Everyone knows that a beard makes no difference to aeros.

  • Lets not forget,

Shaves legs to go more aero

    Races with a mega-beard

    Wins

  • Sorry, can't read the previous pages and I'm sure this has been covered already... Can I race with induction only, I do not have the new accreditation thingy...

Since the last one was rained off we've booked a couple of days this year; there will be sun and it will me MEGA!

Here are some pics from previous ones:

If you want to race all you need is a track legal bike (or you can hire one) and need to do an induction which costs £8 and is at 13:00 on every Saturday; moar details. You'd have to do induction a Saturday before this ideally; if you think you are a pro / ex-team GB and dont need an induction then >>>>>>>>>>>> Another important thing to mention is velodrome's wet weather policy; the weather laughed at us last time.

**Entry fee: **£8 mainly to cover velodrome rental and other costs.

PRIZE SPONSORS SO FAR: Fixedgearlondon/Lockwhip, Restrap, Brixton Cycles, Milltag, Rapha, Swrve

Champagne by forums own Vince aka Champagne Lasseaux & Fils

We are looking for moar prize sponsors and to spread the word.
Get in touch with me or laner
We also need volunteers on the day esp someone on the megaphone.

    Rough race programme:
Mens' A/B Qualifier (10 lap Scratch)
    Women Scratch (10 laps)
    Cat A Devil
    Cat B Devil
    Women Devil
    Cat A Keirin
    Cat B Keirin
    Women Keirin
    Cat A Points
    Cat B Points
    Women Points
    Hare & Hound (All In)
    Keirin Finals

If you don't want to race just come to spectate and support the riders. Drink beer. I have authority over weather to say it will be a lovely day.

So; start a list and get involved! If there is not enough interest we'd need to forfeit the booking which would be sad.

    Should be fine monsieur.

  • Should be fine monsieur.

Is an induction from a previous year OK? Can I bring my own sandwich? Are non stainless steel spokes legal? Does is bar spin? Do I need a high-viz jacket? Can I pay in Euros? Are Miche sproket and lockrings really made of butter? Do you even lift?

  • Anyway, thank you very much, I read it earlier, but too quickly... My bad.

  • That was written before the new rules had been created, i'll email cooky to double check

  • Probably going have to rule myself out.
    Can't risk another coughing fit
I'm defending the DFL title not DFD

Got an appoint to see my GP but earliest appointment is a few days after this.
Unless someone can source me a fully kitted out reliever inhaler?

  • It's bloody early to be getting in the excuses

  • Then had a small asthma attack following trying to win the sprint race 5 laps out.
Which is all well and good but I don't suffer fro asthma..

Still coughing now... which is a worry as its on the list of things my brain surgeon told me avoid doing if possible.

Paul, asthma is a continually growing problem in the population. You've probably heard of London's worsening air quality and particular incidents recently.

    http://www.ndtv.com/article/world/smog-blinds-london-respiratory-ailments-on-the-rise-504543

It is entirely possible that you may be in the next-sensitive cohort. :(

I've myself found myself coughing recently from what I clearly felt was bad air quality.

London's population has been increasing relentlessly and the Mayor has taken no initiative whatsoever over bad air quality.

Hope you get it sorted out!

  • It's bloody early to be getting in the excuses

You'll get yours in at the last minute, eh? ;)

  • Well now you mention it I am getting tattoo'd on my leg this weekend so I hope it has healed well enough in time.
