  • I'd rock one. On the handlebars for those post-pub mad spins home to confirm my awesome speed is really awesome. Garmins are shit in the dark.

Like hippy says though, it would be good to be able to see cadence and heart rate.

I'm going to email them now.

Stem mount your phone and use strava or something...

  • A back light fitted with a motion sensor, that glows brighter when deceleratin, like a brake light. Would I think be a good idea, drivers are used to noticing brake light already.

  • You're postmenopausal, get used to it...

Doc said I was perimenopausal, granddad...

  • I just glance at my Garmin and SHOUT my speed at passing vehicles. This is a mental prompt to re-evaluate their own rate of travel and their subsequent actions.

You can also just wave your arms (whilst SHOUTING), flick the V or the classic "WAAANKAAAH" (with associated mime). This is just one of a number is a meaningful symbols that has to be processed, registered and stored in semantic memory. And makes me feel special.

  • If they really wanted to make a safety device, they should use a camera+ocr+LEDs to shine the number plate of the following car, underneath the words "YOUR REG HAS BEEN RECORDED".

Just like websites that say "Your IP is x.x.x.x and has been logged".

Might make them a little less likely to mow you down knowing their plates have been posted to a server somewhere.

(make it fire rockets into dosy peds and I'll buy one)

  • I'd buy that for a dollar.

You know how new words are entered into the dictionary, they should do it with body language. Sign language for the road user.
