I'm only winding him up.

Sounds like it's $17 for the shoes, not just the shipping...

When receiving goods from the US I've had the option to pay the import duty before it leaves the US so it doesn't get held up by parcel force and avoid paying their extra 'handling' fee which scales depending on the value of the item.
I would suggest asking him if that's an option at his end? I think it's a standard USPS thing and keeps the costs as low as possible.

Er guys, it's $17 for shipping each on top of the price for the shoe...
-
• #32
you guys probably know it already, but tehre is also 20% VAT on top of the total. When I wanted to import something from the US, that's what I was told. The total would also include the delivery cost, whichmade whatever I wanted very expensive.
You can call this number to ask about it: 0300 200 3700

Hi Ben,
Just a heads up, the shoes all came in yesterday.
I have some news that http://www.alwaysriding.co.uk has an order for the marcos in with us. We will be shipping out for them soon. Of course they'll have to clear customs and get on their site but this will be a way for you to avoid high shipping fees and imports.
The offer still stands if you'd like to go forward with your order from before though.
Let me know.
Brian

Im going to wait for always riding to get them as its cheaper i think
-
• #38
Ben, can you ask him to throw my pair of DZR White in there?
Or if you like, can you email him and copy me in on it, maybe I can just pay them direct and collect the White shoes from Always Riding's warehouse in Wandsworth.
Or, can you just send me his email address

Well mine came to £93ish with priority shipping, customs will be about another £20-30 which puts them about the same price as buying from always riding (comparing the markup to bencycles prices converted to pounds) I suspect there will be about a £10 in it in my favour but will wait and see! If I wasn't in such a rush for some new shoes I'd probably wait and avoid the risk.

Hey not sure if you have contacted them yet or not, but I got in touch with the guys form alwaysriding when I wanted a chrome bag that wasn't available in they UK, and they attached that to their next Chrome order then and I got the bag for what would have been the UK RRP with no extra cost or anything, no order is too small for them. Very helpful folks.
