  • more if you wanna borrow it.
you can get em for like 6 quid i reckon

  • Yeah that'll be great, thanks Dakin

  • Probably better off getting a unipaint marker instead as the posca pens are water based, which tends to scratch/ware out a bit quicker than the oil based ones I think. Have one somewhere which you could borrow if you want too

  • Really? Yeah that'd be great if you could. Thanks a lot.

  • Thanks Hugo once more for blacking out the braking surface. Was this the frame you were talking about yesterday?

*Btw is anyone selling lights? In need of a few, no lights is restricting my riding time. Can't ride past 5:10 without feeling like I'm invisible to drivers.

  • Its all good, always about to help a brother in need.
Yep thats it, Im tempted to get it but the 24inch front wheel is a big hassle, always so hard to find. Also should try and finish the Zeus or at least get the wheels built up. That lo pro with matching disc wheels and something like la84s would look boss!

  • Big thanks man. Damn, that frame was on my eBay watch list until it went for something ridiculous like £80 + pp. To take the mick even further it was sold with a front 24 inch wheel. But yeah, that lo pro with matching discs would look boss! Much aero. I've clocked a pretty nice fuji track pro (my commitment issues kicking in once again) but I won't be able to afford it nonetheless. Even for peanuts.

  • After weeks (months?), you've had a bike in working order for 10 days and already looking for a new project?

  • Commitment issues TM, commitment issues. I'm keeping this frame till April though. I promise

  • No way! All I know is thats often the case with stoney, the frame I got from him I found out was bought for sub 100 mark full of campagnolo parts and wheels on ebay then sold on his website naked for nearly double. He just emailed me saying he sold it, thank god! Was way too tempting.

Keep it for the winter or until end of school and save up the pounds and get a summer project?

  • Yeah, I'll be keeping the frame while saving until .. late April/early May which is when my exams begin. Then I'll sell the frame when I've finished all my exams and hopefully the money saved along with the sale of the frame will give me enough monies for a sweet frame.

  • Wow, never seen that 7005 before. By "sweet" frame; I mean probably a Lo-pro, a Dolan track champion ish frame or a vintage Reynolds steel frame.

  • Probably better off getting a unipaint marker instead as the posca pens are water based, which tends to scratch/ware out a bit quicker than the oil based ones I think. Have one somewhere which you could borrow if you want too

These work great for blacking out braking surfaces, thanks for the tip!

  • I'd rather keep that fort of yours and put some nice carbon forks on it than get a track champ or something, I always regretted selling my fort but it was too big, one of the nicest riding frames I've had. I can help you find some drilled 1" carbon forks if you want! (;

  • Yeah I'd much rather have this than a track champ, they're common and boring for the most part.

  • Hmm, you make a great point TM, you've persuaded me to think about keeping it for longer than I originally planned. Ah yes please, that'll be greatly appreciated. I highly doubt boner will let my old 1" Alpina's go for a while.

  • Could always get a new headtube put in, would open up a whole new world of fork choices

  • Not exactly small work though, considering it's alu, and the paintjob is tidy enough... I think a pair of 1" carbon forks might be more economical than head tube, paintjob and 1 1/8 forks...

  • Irish Mick's Fort, and in my opinion, the best looking ever:

I've had a set of inch threaded forks and an ITM quill stem sitting on my bedroom floor for about two years waiting to rip that off.

    We've been here before...

Someone on here has a fort with a 1" quill setup and it looks rad.

not sure if the one I was thinking of, but..

  • Alright, alright, Tom - I'm drunk, okay.

    Goodnight,
    Tom

  • Nah it's all good, if we post that photo enough uoeno might start coming round!

  • Threaded forks do look nice on THAT particular frame, not sure they would look as nice on a light blue frame.

Still preferring TM's set up though.

  • How long is your headtube? I've got some drilled, threaded carbon forks you could have for cheap. Not as nice as Alpina or anything but PM me if you're keen and I'll get some photos.
