..... Like it or not government makes money out of people driving to work but does not make as much money out of cyclists. ......
Oh good, lets derail into a discussion on the relative cost benefits to the community and government of people driving or cycling to work.
We could also divert into considering the intellectual vacuity of including government tax revenue streams into the roads assessment matrix. That's why I like your trolls so much, so many dark alleys of the mind to be explored.

motorsts are a much better source of taxation than cyclists.
Made-up fact alert! Private motoring is a net drain on the economy, drivers are the single most pampered and subsidised members of society apart from MPs.

Please tell me how to get from the home page to advice about cycling safely.
You click on the box on the homepage that says "safer cycling"

Either the guy wrote that without looking at our website or he is deliberately lying.
That behaviour defines internet trolling. In case you missed the link about how to cycle safely it is the one under the banner saying "Safer Cycling"
The odd thing is that the advice on tyre pressure and brakes that John Morrison cites disapprovingly is on the same page as the advice on using lights or high-viz features on clothing which he claims is missing. Does he want to criticise that the page doesn't spell out that one should use front and rear lights?
Use lights at night It's a legal requirement to use lights at night; also consider wearing light or high-visibility clothing or adding reflective material to your bike or luggage.
The London Cycling Campaign is no better. Its website reminds cyclists to check their tyre pressures and brakes but fails to say anything about front and rear lights, or about hi-vis clothing or how to stay safe on the road.
So, yes, Charlie is quite right that the author is either trolling or just hasn't done his research.

Here's some feedback for you Charlie.
lcc.org.uk
click on advice
click on FAQs
click on safer cycling
click on the question you want an answer toIt is my opinion that the lcc website should have a clear box at the top of the homepage, one of 4 or 6 main options, that says 'safer cycling'. When you click on that there should be some very clear messages (eg about lights and inside of trucks at junctions) and then further options for more detail.
I think that messages about how cyclists can make themselves safer on the road is far too hidden compared to the prominance that it could have.
You can of course just tell me I am wrong.
Is everybody blind? That 'safer cycling' link is in a fairly prominent position on the front page, requiring one click to get to it. It's in red, with a big speech bubble.
If people don't even scroll down the page a little way, it is at best a minor issue of page design whether to repeat the link somewhere else. The content is there.

I really fucking hate to side with Jeez for a little bit, but yes it could be slightly more discernible.
And it's prominent, not prominant.
-
• #661
IT COULD BE MORE PROMINANT. Maybe most people do spot it, but I am pretty damn sure that I am not the only one who missed it.
As I said, a very minor issue of page design. John Morrison appears to have found the page and either deliberately or accidentally misread it and misrepresented the LCC in the process.

sweet titty fucking christ. he even manages to turn into some half arsed 'war on the motorist' bullshit with his sideways comments about the congestion charge and how much it costs to park in zone one. we really are screwed, aren't we?

I agree, it's like Where's Wally? How could anyone being paid to write about this stuff expect to find it? It must take literally seconds.
The big advert for free lights when you join the LCC only makes their position even weaker.Maybe, but it doesn't even spell out that the lights pictured are, respectively, a front light and a rear light. How is anyone supposed to know?
