Nothing to call home about but changed the headset over to a black one and switched forks back to the originals.
This bike definitely needs black pedals and black front mech. In the near future I'd like a unmolested, in good condition Cannondale CAAD10 frame + forks only, which is proving hard to find.
Once I've found a CAAD10 thinking of selling everything off this and having it as a fixed-wheel (campag pista cranks, lovely stainless spokes on low flange campag hubs, gumwalls etc etc) and building up the CAAD with Sram force/red with big carbon rims...
....or do I sell this, and build a ever badass-erer caad and build a track beater? Hmm..

Ok so wanting to rebuild, new cables etc but thought while I'm at it why don't I repaint? Got some new wheels on the way, watch this space...

Finally got round to stripping her down. Doesn't look too bad from the pictures but the quality of paint-work was shocking. Horrible masking, poor quality paint, poor coverage and starting to look really tired. Frame is '87 and I'm probably guessing it wasn't painted too long after it was made.
Frame has now been sent to my blaster so should have it back in a hour or so. I'm going to be powder-coating this frame rather than wet spraying so it should be ready real soon. Ordered my new wheels so hoping the bright colour with carbon rims will look cool.

Are you keeping the same color scheme?

Nope this frame was originally orange. After much googling it is indeed a replica Merckx paintjob.
I'll be going a single colour with the frame, possibly bright pink or yellow.

Well it's been 9 months since I did anything to this frame, it's sat in my workshop in primer..
It's my birthday tomorrow so thought I would treat myself to building this again. I've thrown some money at my CAAD10 which is my 'summer bike' so my Gazelle will be my winter bike for this year. I did build a Muddy Fox for the winter which I've found.....uninspiring.
I'm going to be building this up with parts I've got hanging around. 1" quill, down-tube shifters, the lot.I want to go super aesthetic on this, large saddle-bar drop, slammed stem etc etc. Colour possibly TVM, not sure yet, open to suggestions..
Even worse than me!
