  • yes , i think they are ofmega,(was a cheap n cheerful buy) i have another set with Ernie's signature, thinking these are also poss ofmega, i have seen campag hubs with a panto signature though

  • will get this one finished soon, just needs nitto drops and a wheel build

i replaced the torn tt cable guide, and was considering dealing with the ill fitted wheel rub on the nds stay bellow, but i took it into a reputable shop and their opinion was it's not an issue

  • also tempted to make this period correct and use da ,

    same frame set

then i can put the gruppo on the c40 b stay

  • The Campag ones are what I'm after, they're just bog standard Record hubs, panto in the middle and regular skewers. They don't tend to go cheap. I don't know who makes the Colnago rims, (Ambrosio probably) but I don't like the look of them much!

  • I.would just touch that in with blue paint - you'd never notice it there.

  • the record ones i've seen are 200 euro + ,i got the wheelset for 100 with the signature hubs , the rims are just ambrosio with colnago stickers, the rims on the clover hubs are ambrosio with the colnago corsa sticker

  • may just leave as if ever sold,i would not be hiding any ''warts"

  • this is lugged, but no master

    listed here

  • That's a very steep hill to climb for a buy it now...!

  • states it was built for a milan bike show, tt has a centaur decal, not sure if gruppo is centaur, euclid or record or

  • I've got a set of those Euclid brake/gear levers. So a middling group on quite an ordinary frame. Mucho dinero!

  • On a road bike I bought last year, there was this "compact" crankset. After I took it off the bike, I noticed it's a triple "ATB" crank. Any idea what this could be?

  • all campag mtb is marked as atb, it may be olympus or centaur
i've been collecting these compents for a while now

  • That's obvious! ;-)

  • Holy shit! What a collection

  • thanks, but it's an old pic, master mtb now sold (may be able to get it back), and i lost the record or on the cinell the next machine when it got stolen, so down to 3 gruppi now

  • Another little side project finished. A master olympic with a later Campag Daytona 10spd groupset I commandeered off a 2004 Witcomb I had, Ambrosia hubs with Mavic Sport Rims. Makes for a nice ride. Am considering doing the London to Southend Charity ride on it Sunday but haven't quite decided what to take yet.

  • Still a couple of components to gather for the '78 Super I'm doing too before I get it repainted in a slightly more sympathetic to the eye colour that's not the bright turquoise/blue it is currently. I'm think pearlescent white now as I have a Merckx Professional that colour and love it. I think Colnago did a Pearl white in the 70's ?? anyone

BTW I'm still after some nut fitment (not recessed allen) Nuovo Record calipers if anybody has some in average to good condition. Would love Super Record but probably out of my budget or would settle for GS as that's all I seem to be seeing with the nut fitment so if anybody has something I'd love to hear from you

  • master looks great, look forward to seeing the finished 78

  • Just a question: Did colnago make the Dream frameset themselves, or did Columbus build the frame and Colnago paint it?

The Columbus Airplane frameset (they must have made thousands), has been used in at least 8 big players under a rebrand, including Gios, Alan, Cinelli and De Rosa, some of them clearly only decalled up with generic paint jobs.

  • ^^ that's my favourite Olympic colour! Very nice bike.

I bought me an Ibex steel mtb today. Not that old (1995), not that high end equipped (LX) but I liked the frameset (TAnge Ultimate Prestige) and straight forks so I couldn't resist. Will take the Suntour XC Pro from the MAster Alloy I bought last week and put that one on it, I think.

Will post pictures later (I'm leaving for Spain and have other things to do tomorrow) but it's one like this (paint of mine is in worse condition):

  • Own picture:

  • And this one I picked up for a British friend I'm helping to complete his Collection
