A bit of a random question. Does anyone know how to make sense of the FCI frame number on a Colnago Pista (circa 80s)? The number is on the rear dropout. I assume it might refer to consignments to a specific velodrome?

Haha yeh… it’s a nice ride - doesn’t have the same “snap” when you are out the saddle as the Pina and/or hold a speed as nicely but it’s just so damn smooth!

It looks really like a polished deda murex, but the screw cap cover makes me think not…

Can you not just make a cheeky phone call to sigma sport ask Jason.

Cheers. Would like to buy and build up a tecnos and think that stem would suit the bulgy tubed frame.
@billygoat28 I only live in Hampton, good to have an excuse to pop by though.

I know it's ahead but interested in this one for your Tecnos, @Chellis88 ?

Thanks Wim, not for me I'm afraid. It's also a bit in the future as I don't have a frame yet! Have a master which is slowly dying and is too far gone for resto so needs replacing. So if you have a tecnos...

I bought it as a secondhand reno job, which had a new spray job by Bob jackson. Within 6 months I found a crack on the nds seatstay near what I thought was a gas escape hole when brazing, which has also now become larger. Stripped bike down to have the stay replaced but then found a hole in bb shell under the plastic cable housing for gear cables, also found a small crack on ds chain stay. The other issue is the bike is completely painted, so no chrome, which I have now decided I would like. The quill is also stuck.
So my plan is to build back up and use as my town/pub/lockup bike. As I don't think repair is worth it.

Cheers. Not exactly cheap but yellow, purple or pink would be the colour schemes for me. There's a nicely renovated frame on ebay but £££.

Wish I had £900 going spare. I've had my Tecnos since new in 96; still great to ride but a lot more chipped now.

Not having £900 spare and a wife on unpaid maternity leave is mostly why this remains on ebay and only looking for framesets. If you ever feel like having some more money and one less frame (if it's around 56c-c) then let me know.

I'm afraid it will never be for sale.
Colnago Classic?
