picked this up yesterday, been hanging in a garage for 7 years. A good clean first, new tyres, lube and then ride it. I hope.

Awesome! Gonna need new cables probably.

Bar tape too, I don’t want to try and make a new bike, just consumables and a basic service then use it.

My master pista, the only colnago Ive seen with the lowered seatstays. not much info about it besides being stamped 9 on the dropout. The downtube reads cinquenta5.

The Colnago Equilateral and Equilateral Crono also have lowered seatstays. Quite a rare looking specimen.

Change of wheels and narrower bars. Sorted 🙌

Very much approved. You've seen some shit weather lately, judging from those nasty fork blades. Are the bars now 40cm?
-
• #2784
Thanks buddy- yep they are 40 drops which are 38 at the hoods. Huge difference the old ones made it feel like steering a barge!

Sorry if a repost but didn’t know where to put this and only just come across it... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=02mCf0nyyEk

That's a cool story, but as per the majority of the comments on youtube, the guy didn't seem that grateful to the spectator, who gave his bike to someone who just smashed their own to the floor in anger..... actually came across as a bit of a douche, hope off camera there was more to it.

Ha yeah I thought that too, perhaps it was a little embarrassing/ a conversation their sponsor didn't want them to dwell on... ? would have been cooler if he'd won the stage with the saddle bag still on...

Do you have some pictures to share? All I can find are triple triangles...
-
• #2792
It's either a joke or I'm doing something wrong. Either way I don't get what you mean? Could you be more specific? If you're making fun about the frame size that'd be low hanging fruit. I love small frames nothing wrong with them and also difficult to find.
-
• #2793
Not at all! I was just curious to see other lowered seat stay colnago models which are not triple triangles, like the master pista cinquenta5.

But mine is a Colnago Master Piu. Do you want a closeup a specific area of the frame?
-
• #2795
It has nothing to do with your bike, nor it's size. Great build btw, loving the colour scheme! You mentioned the Colnago Equilateral and Equilateral Crono having lowered seat stay, but from what I found online like they are triple triangles... Unless you consider that lowered seat stay? I guess they technically are...

But the seat stays on triple triangle frames are bonded to both the seat tube and top tube. Wouldn't that make the frame more rigid than just having lowered seat stays? Thanks, the colour chose me. I bought the frame by chance, and equipped it with not the most practical but imo beautiful italian components. Everything is used except for the saddle, bottle, tubes and tires. Yes even old good condition cables.
