Got any pics of the bottom bracket shell (top and bottom) and the seat cluster? They'll help in identifying the age.
-
• #35
well if it was custom made for tom i guess its from around 2000
the frame needs a respray and campagnolo pista parts to do it justice, looks like some hipstermachine now -
• #36
Has Boonen ever ridden for a Colnago equipped team? I don't think he has.
-
• #37
^^ I don't know either! I tried to research, but could not find out anything about it, not even if he ever rode on the track....
and I know it looks like a hippster-bike, which is why I want to build up again from scratch, as good as I can. this was my first bike, I was on a budget, had no clue, and wanted to get it on the road...
here are some pics of seat cluster and BB shell....

The frame ID should be on the dropouts, I would say email Colnago but I've been doing that for a while and I didn't get fucking anything.
-
• #39
any assumptions one can make about the tubing?
-
• #40
and from the dropouts I could very well be a mexico 72 (or is there any other mexicos?)
they, as well as the fork and clearance look exactly like mine....
I know I am riding this topic out now, but I would just like to know! :D

• #41
You can assume it's not carbon.
-

• #43
Oh well, you win some you lose some. :)
-
• #44
I guess....

here we go again!
I looked at the rear dropouts more closely and there seems to be something stamped on the right side one.
It is either a P1 or a P7.does that help?

Hi
I can't seem to find any info on this frame i aqcuired.
It appears to be a colnago competition pista (because thats what it says on the toptube) yet i cant find any info on that particular frame.
the only link i find to it is this one: http://www.chariandconyc.net/blog/colnago-gilco-pista-track-frame-competition
for this frame:
Which is the only frame i found that looks exactly the same.
Except for the columbus labeling (on the seatstay as well as on the forks) and the chrome at the 'lugging'.. Can it be this frame got resprayed though?Any info is welcome

I'm not that into 'nagos or strict porn rules normally BUT that is an awesome find. Just love to see it with Italian hubs.I think I have the same stem, 3T?

thank you
I am stil a bit shocked myself, was very lucky to stumble upon it, and it was a close call as well or it wouldve been snatched before my nose..and I wouldve been expecting campy parts on it as well, but I bought it as a whole and this is how it came..
By the way, in the search for frames similar, the only colnago track frames that had shimano on em were the Mapei Masters but that is definately not the same frame (where the seatpost goes in it is longer)and again: the columbus labeling..

know little about them but i want it! how did you find it?
-
• #50
well, by luck actually, someone was selling it, i was the first to react to the add and bought it.
But not one helpfull reply? =/
I was certain the lfgss mob was going to sort me out with more info then I'd be needing..
Most of what i know about bikes came from lurking around here for a year..Yeah well, doesnt make the bike any less then I thought it was when I bought it..
pics might help
