Thanks Saarf! As you know with Colnagos and kin, it's a terrible case of adding to, rather than rationalising, collections. I have a couple of steel and carbon ones too. The steel ones (78 Super and 83 Saronni) ride superbly, even with tired legs.

I wouldn't sell if it I were you
ahh, but, my curiosity still persists, did you source in UK? -
• #155
Yup. This was sold on eBay a while back by Eric Sayliss, the owner of a beautiful original Gloria Garibaldina: http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/bikes/gloria-eric-rb.html
He said that the Garibaldina was the only bike he'd never part with. I made the appropriate noises. -

they''re quite something, haven't seen any in Benelux yet, so perhaps had no distribution

• #157
That Gloria is rather splendid.

Thanks Regal!

We do want to see the crabon ones too, of course…

how does the Gloria compare with the Super ride wise?
-
• #161
The Gloria is a much heavier, cruising ride in comparison to the Super, but still very plush. This is a sports bike rather than an out-an-out racer. I have a 50s Gloria Garibaldina (4 speed) that has a more competitive geometry and this feels more similar to the Super. One of the difficulties with vintage rides is the lack of brake response compared to modern rides. The later the bike, the more confidence inspiring they are to ride.
C59 traditional geometry 54cm with SR & Excellight rims.
Someone at work had left out a picture frame, so popped the bike in front for a quick snap. -

Very nice, I'd love a C59. Quite right to get the trad geo as well, the sloping top tubes still look wrong to me.
Rumours of a C60 coming in 2014 I think?
-
• #163
that looks a decent decor, some of the 59's aren't too clever imo
-
• #164
A lot of Colnagos are quite gaudy. It's an acquired taste based around quite a bit of race sponsorship and artisan masking that I have yet to get my head around.
Is the marketing face of the C60?

wasný impressed when i saw these
this is just anemic, albeit a clx
my preference for the brand does not extend to modern models like the c60, i feel the brand has lost it's way a little innovation wise -
• #166
if i was to have c60 money to spend, I'd go a little further and get one of these

Yeah, most of the C59 paint schemes are horrible and seem very generic to me. The disc-braked version in military green is just straight up nasty. The black / 'Nero' versions are rather handsome though.
The new Art Decor ones are amazing, but then I'd ride pretty much anything that had AD10 on it.

• #170
I like the nero, they dropped the ball with last years arabesque style lug detailing imo

oh Colnago thread ! strange i still cant found it

• #173
nice work, do you know much about cinelli frames? in particular the Nautilus by any chance?
-
• #174
that new nautilus of yours looks like it was repainted using a bloody fence brush, could be (but hope there isn't) all sorts of bother underneath the stippling (am minded of dammit's troubles with his cannondale)
-
• #175
do you think it is a nautilus though? got it pretty cheap
164 pounds, has cinelli cut into bb
amazing headtube lug work
and fork crown detailing, possibly best post yet for rarity
where did you source?
