Superdry for the gullible and visually unaware.
Yes its that

designed with a void of creativity
ftfy
They're just a small brand printing on blanks, trying to ride the wave of success of PNS, Maap etc

• #6029
thanks for confirming my suspicions

• #6030
It actually really reminds me of the free branded swag you would get at conferences. Just as cycling jerseys instead of ballpoint pens.

Is misuse of the registered trademark symbol actually punishable, because that shit really pisses me off.
Edit; yeah, apparently so...

• #6034
Misuse of the R mark is illegal, but TM has no real legal meaning or force unfortunately
-
• #6035
I highly doubt they have registered "women" as a trademark, or if that would even be possible given how ubiquitous it is as a word in its own right
Also, "sensual purity" can get in the fucking sea as well.
-
• #6036
Yeah, I assumed they were just using TM, R is definitely not ok - worth an email to the UKIPO if anyone feels strongly!
-
• #6037
to be fair to them I'm not sure they're arguing they own copyright to the word so much as the design
Copyright protects your work and stops others from using it without your permission. You get copyright protection automatically - you don't have to apply or pay a fee
also not entirely sure why they're getting so much hate - a development team making a clothing range doesn't seem like the most important thing to direct ire at. It's boring and derivative, but they're not exactly the first company to be that

AGGRESSIVELY/tasteless™ heteronormative® "bandwagon bollocks"

• #6039
Lol

I would say that they’re using the R mark as a design element rather than an assertion of registration status, but the R mark is protected precisely so it doesn’t lose its value and meaning, which this kind of use risks.
I suspect it’s the ‘pseud’s corner’ nonsense language which is winding people up, but as you say, they’re not the only ones guilty of that either!

But wait, Is it soooo fucking bad it’s actually good?

Does anyone own Le Col? Are the sizes similar to Rapha?
I've obviously looked at the size guides but I wanted to know first hand experiences with it.
-
• #6043
In the sense that I am XL in both Rapha and Le Col they are similar.
The Le Col Sport jersey is a lot closer fitting than the Core Rapha Jersey.
The Le Col Sport bibs are a looser fitting than the Rapha Pro Team Training Bibs.
My tuppence worth.

• #6044
That helps a lot thank you, good references. A pub/cycling group have some kit designed by Le col which I'm getting

are "universal colours" owned by sigma? prices seem ok, style seems a bit plain with some nice-ish colours. just got some merino socks from them - quality is good
tell me what to think of this brand guys - are they cool?
-
• #6048
Seems so! I've wondered about it a couple of times so just looked at their site again, and this is on their footer:
Universal Colours is a trading name of Sigma Sports Limited.
Company No: 04842265 / VAT No: GB563969389 -
• #6049
Yep, Universal Colours is to Sigma Sports, what DHB is to Wiggle.

What brands make (good) bib shorts that are shorter in the leg. I bought some Albion ones but had to send them back as they came down to my knees! A shame as they are nice quality and I love the pad in the tights I have from them.
I have some Universal Colours that aren't too long. Who else? Assos?
can somebody explain NVPA to me?
i had a look and its block colour, mainly black standard jerseys/jackets/shorts.
some have a big logo in a repeated pattern.
the marketing bullshit says:
“We are an inspired creative concept and contemporary technical apparel brand that started life in 2012 as the “NEON VELO” Rider Development Programme. Today, the brand defines visionary aesthetics, innovative designs and collaborations designed to fill a void of creativity in cycling. Our carefully curated ranges offer a forward-thinking fashionable approach to cycling products and a limited edition off-bike collection.”
am i missing some intrinsic quality that makes them stand out?
“visionary aesthetics”? it looks a bit like Superdry for the gullible and visually unaware.
