I like the look of this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Racer-Bike-PT-Stallard/174645898600
The north east end of Morecambe Bay is a bit too inconvenient for me to even ask what size it is though.

Saw that a week or two ago, It started at 900 I think then dropped to 750,500 and now a more realistic price :)

Someone over on cycle chat spotted this auction of interesting frames and parts including a Jack Taylor, a Tom Bromwich and a nice Viking track iron:

@jeff80 I guess you saw this one?

It's pricey but lovely! Our size, track ends, mudguard eyes, "sensible offers considered"!
Shame it's only headset and bb included.

yes Saw that, it's lovely but a bit too pricey sadly. I once had what was most likely one of these frames but it was slightly too big so I moved it on. It rode really well though I have to say.

My Chater lea cranks arrived over the weekend.
They look great, I bought them as they were described as 170mm, however according to my ruler they are 180mm long.
Not sure I can use them on my fixed wheel build now.

It's 9.5cm to the ground from the bottom of the crank

Are your concerns that it will detrimentally effect the gear ratio or pedal strike danger or both?
-
• #3441
I just measured the clearance on my (non-fixed, SPD pedals) bike and it’s 8cm from the bottom of the crank to the floor. How far can you lean the bike until the pedal hits the ground—and can you imagine doing that in motion? Mine goes to about 33°.
It’ll probably be fine if you never lean the bike, or go over any bumps. I wonder if you could fit slightly bigger wheels and/or tyres, there looks to be room in there.

Gear ratio I'm not worried about as I will change the chainring anyway. I was thinking about going for inch pitch, possibly.
It was running aground that concerns me. There is definitely not enough room for larger tyres as I've tried, but your right @aglet the chances of me running aground with a clearance of 9.5cm is slim. I could always put the longer cranks on my road bike then I wouldn't have to worry. -

I am very tempted by this 6 mins
left. A lot of bike for the money. I had my first ride on a tandem over the weekend. It's amazing fun and they are so fast once you get going.

I need to get hold of one of these screws and probably fabricate the bushing.
Of course it’s an obsolete thread French Metric (pre ISO) M5x1.0
Used for Simplex shifters and ting.
If any of you have any leads or insights, I’d be grateful. I’ve found a tap to make the bushing out of a built of round stock but making a screw seems bonkers. -

@passhunting Is that £200 each or for the 3? Either would be a bargain. The box lining on the black RRA...

That tandem looks a laugh, a lot of work though.
Those Raleigh RRAs are great.
What a steal.
I was a whisker away from putting in a bid earlier. I’ve got a spare Lytaloy screw on top race. Cleaned down to bare metal and a bit pitted but would work with that. The 1960 Gillott I accidentally bought and is at Argos already helped talk me out of it :) If anyone here wins that Holdsworth and wants the race let me know.
