Thanks for the advice on what to look for.

Thanks for the advice, I think I will need to pick one or two different rims and then try and get a pair eventually or get lucky and find a pair of 32 & 40. The Fiamme timeline is new to me and very useful.

Very very nice. I have headset, seat collar, brakes. It’s the pump that gets me, love it.

Smashing groupset by the way @7ven. What are you going to do with it, do you have a frame in mind or will it be framed?
-
• #2362
Going to put in on something when I find just the right something then take it down that steep Kentish hill you took us down :) Hope you're well and enjoying home schooling

ha ha all good thanks @7ven and you.
No home schooling for me, my daughter would have been in the middle of her GCSE,s right now, consequently there isn't much more she can really do, in terms of school work.
I think it was Rowdow lane near Otford, yer it was pretty hairy at the bottom of the hill. -

Sorry clicked the wrong reply :)
What’s your plan now? Rebuild with a Mad Max aesthetic or time for new paint?

My main bike is locked up at work so it’s inaccessible for the foreseeable. I’ve been sharing duty between my GT Edge lolwtfbbqbike and my 1938/39 Parkes. Funny thought that I might have been the only person out today track standing and skid stopping on an 80 year old bike!
These wheels are early 50s 32/40h Fiamme sprints with Challenge 25mm tubs - not too difficult to find at a sensible price if you’re looking for period rims. Double butted stainless spokes from Cycle Basket and early 50s Normandy round hole alloy hubs. I think if you’re sensible with your choice of tubs and carry a can of Pit Stop hidden in your spare tub bundle under your saddle you’ll be ok with tubs.

Nice frame, creepy picture. Looks to have a brass head badge which would make it just post war.
This Dutch Joco looks pretty special:

Which Challenge tubulars are you using and how do they ride?
-I was looking at getting a few for two of my bikes. -

Has anyone else noticed that the Joco front forks look non original?
The gap at the front is a lot bigger than at the back - the position of the brake blocks in the callipers gives this away.
The rear fork ends have mudguard eyes, the front do not.
So this bike looks useful for some of its parts, but I wouldn't value the frame very highly.
Does anyone know why there are 2 different diameter Airlite Continental front hubs?
76mm and 80.4mm as shown on http://classiclightweights.co.uk/airlites.html and attached?
I have 2 with hollow axles that are the 80.4mm and 1 with solid axle that is 76mm.
