Campagnolo Cambio derailleur levers anyone, they do not come up very often and easy to miss with that title.

Im no expert on these gears but it seems like a fair starting price, however I have no idea what sort of price they will sell for.? -

Listed as a Claud Butler Cresta but looks far better to me. The ad also has it as 60cm but looks far smaller.
I think it's far older than a Cresta and probably from the late 40s and looks like it could be a Bilaminate frame and the model being a Avant Coureur or New allrounder but I'm no expert -

Very nice.

your right I think. Never seen a crest with osgear dropouts or those lugs before
-
• #1182
And definitely bilaminated.
-

Those Osgear drop outs were the first thing that made me think it was 40s and then those lugs.
Found a picture of a 48' Avant Coureur which is a good match for the listed frame but the 48' doesn't have the Osgear drop outs , so maybe the ebay frame is a little older ?
I like it but it's too big for me by the look of it and I've contacted the seller and they won't entertain posting it.

Strata brake lever.
Note in picture two they haven't got the quick release slit for the brake cable like The equivalent GB levers, which is handy if your running a bike built for both road and track riding.
No branding on them either unfortunately apart from the unfathomable lettering underneath the base.
However they feel and look very well made. -

100 pound buy now for a Claud Butler track frame with interesting provenance. I don't think it will last very long on eBay. -

Nice. The prices are so unpredictable at the moment I could see it going for 30 quid. It seems that only hetchins, ephgrave and a few other marques are holding a consistent price.
Here's an interesting ratty one- once chrome frame, Nervex lugs, oil ports... the frame number suggests holdsworth but it doesn't look any I've seen:

Looks well made.
Seat tube decal -
Bond & Son, Street, Somerset but there's nothing online I can find about this builder. -
• #1189
It does.
I searched too and drew blank. I also searched for "Central cycle works" which it says below Bond & Son,but again, nothing. Shame not to be able to ID it.

Maybe they were the shop, not the builders?
-
• #1191
Very good point as it looks decent quality and you'd imagine that there would be something online if they were the builder.
-
• #1192
Indeed and never heard anything about this builder before. It definitely looks like a shop sticker to me.
-
• #1193
Yep, shop decal seems most likely.
Nice Hobbs here:
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F323561209223Seller has a couple more Hobbs too and a lovely '70s ladies Kingston (Rotrax) which looks much older.

This blue/chrome frame certainly looks to be good quality. Had you noticed that it appears to have close clearances? I think the wheels are 27's, but it looks to me as though it was built for sprints and this suggests that the original owner intended to do some serious riding on it.
It certainly looks 1950's and not late in the decade since it has plain looking fork ends - forged ends like campag were becoming common before 1960.
The most interesting point here is that it doesn't appear to be worth much (of course, I might be proved wrong in the next couple of hours) and I imagine this is because it doesn't have a 'brand'. As you say certain makes have extraordinary value - a fairly extreme example being that yellow Saxon twin tube a little further back in this thread: £731! Some people will pay anything for weirdness, and I guess this must be because they have no real intention to ride these machines. And I naively thought that was the main reason to own a bike.

Been meaning to offer here for ages, sexy FB 40fixed/32 LF hubs, steel barrels I guess, on good sprints, not exactly true - a pal got them out of his old Dad’s loft ages ago and I’ve never bothered to do anything with them. £free except something I can take to the pal: a handful of beers perhaps? Can photo if you need to check begore making the journey, hit me up
