FYI cross post from DragonDrome/Theatre of Netless Dreams thread...
Had a chat with Antonio about trying to get a league fixture happening at HH this Sunday...
It looks like we have the court all day so a 10am league game will ensure we get plenty of throw-ins for the rest of the day... Let's hope we get more of this sunshine come the weekend...

League 1 Report.
Acid Trip met Haymakers at the legendary throwin court, Hackney Downs, last Sunday. It was a fiercely contested match, although, each chukker saw the Haymakers surge ahead with consistent scoring. Haymakers played very well, switching between calm passing movements through the opposition to rapid bursts, charging down the line. Acid Trip defended very well and had their fair amount of possession. Yet they struggled to convert any of their possession into strong scoring opportunities, as they seemed too keen to match Haymaker’s speed and did not take time to gather their own composure. While both teams put on a good performance, it was a visibly one sided game.
Given the disparity between the scoreline, the real drama of the match was found in the progress of Tim Warin. Joining the pair who had achieved 7th at WHBPC 2013, Warin sparked interest as a player to watch in the League. Although Warin was visibly feeling the pressure of the crowd from the beginning of the match, fumbling the ball and whiffing frequently in front of the net. Wary Warin even found himself stumbling into the line of his team mates, dispossessing them and even destroying a promising attempt on goal from Marshall. At the end of the first chukker the Haymakers had created a significant lead, none of which was contributed by Warin. While wandering around anxiously during the break in play, Warin remarked feebly “I just want to score a goal”.
Warin’s hopes seemed to be unfounded in the second chukker. He continued to not make an impact in the game and repeatedly failed to convert attempts on goal. Ex team mate Nik Hamilton was heard gleefully mentioning something about ships sinking and provocateur Ryan McCaig goaded Warin by lying down in the Acid Trip net, announcing that he would be safe from Warin’s shot. Yet before any further comments could be made, soggy Warin stormed along the right and launched the ball into the Acid Trip net. Very accurate shot. Much celebrations. Wow. The goal galvanised Warin more than meat on a dude’s pizza. Suddenly Warin was everywhere, putting clean but brutal checks on the opposition, linking up seamlessly with his team mates and making strong confidents bursts on net himself followed by more successful conversions. Warin didn’t just seem at ease, but was visibly flourishing on court. With Warin playing so well, Haymakers seemed more comfortable as a team. This was evident in the third chukker as the Haymakers blazed past the twenty mark.
Haymakers versus Acid Trip was a fierce game between two great teams. Moreover, it was a fierce battle for one man to overcome his demons and meet the expectations of the crowd. Needless to say, the Warin ship conquered the waves of doubt.
