Acid Trip vs Haymakers (when I cannot be sure but it was a funday)
It’s January and its Sunday morning and these dicks have organized a league game at hackney downs.
Emmet: But really? You guys are playing now?
Adam: I know…talk about right in the middle of pick up. Dicks. Could of got up earlier and smashed it by the time majority got here.
Tim: Why don’t you guys go south to Herne Hill?
Adam: Why don’t you go south to Herne Hill…do one Timmy!
Tim: Er there’s two more league games later as well.
Emmet: (starts crying)
Photoguy will: When is this league game starting?
Adam: ok we need an intervention.
Emmet: If we let them play but the middle game goes to mitch its not that bad?
Adam: Yeah I guess plus league games are fun right?
Emmet: yeah only if I can send jono off ?
Vidal: There’s two more league games later on dudes..
Adam: hmm we need someone who really wants to play polo that can tell these guys to do one with that middle game.
Emmet: you?
Adam: I was thinking you?
(Then Ryan appears)
Emmet: So Ryan you wanna play polo?
Ryan: sure thing bossman!
Emmet: ok well make that middle league game go to mitch?
Ryan: sure thing bossman!
Emmet: (stops crying)
Emmet: Blows his whistle rack em up!
So Acid Trip line-up we have Woody (thumb guy), Ed Moog (lefty bullshit) and sub Jamie (Trigonometry) who I guess is filling in for Aidan the dino bossman.
Haymakers we have the Jono (donkey), Josh (melon eyes), Tim (water hippy) in their strapping matching outfits of a technical variety.
On goal ref duty we have Luca (CMD + MVP lad) and Edmund (big ed) doing their bit for the league with Will Melling (photoguy) documenting this fine event. Ben (beagle) was also in attendance who kindly provided this book for me to write in, the stop watch, whistle and also insisted on reffing Emmet ref.
As the game is started under Emmets whistle Jono is fast on the Joust. As Haymakers move the ball about Josh and Jono are linking are well whilst Tim brings in some extra linkage and blockage.

GOAL 8:42 JONOWith the score at 5 nil to the haymakers after 8 mins and 42 seconds it was not looking good. Acid Trip were struggling to deal with the pace of Jono who would capitalize on loose balls by riding faster and simply closing down the Acid trippers with a high hussle.
Emmet: I really want to send Jono off!
Adam: Hmmm well I’m sure he will give you a reason at some point.
Emmet: not sure I need one
Beagle: Emmet you missed that call!
Emmet: what call?
Beagle: the fucking call!

GOAL 13:47 JAMIE6-1 to the Haymakers after the 1st 15 min period. Tim mentions at half time that he would like to score a goal.
2nd Period begins
Haymakers again quick out the blocks picking the ball up and controlling the game.

MISS At 4:15 Tim nearly scores a goal
GOAL 5:26 TIM SCORES!!! Tim is noticeably happier at getting on the score sheet. A cut inside with a big shot through the BB. Tim mentions his hangover is starting to lift. He resets in the attacking role as woody comes across with the ball. A fumbled pass with a Tim interception through on goal…..

6:18 It’s noted that josh does not have a facecage on.
Adam: where’s your cage josh?
Josh: Whatever…I’m living dangerously
Beagle: (pulls a face of concern)
OWN-GOAL 6:45 – A HOWLER! Jono the tormentor and scorer of many has attempted to scoop pass. Trying to scoop the ball from the right side of the court across. Instead the ball heads directly backwards for an own-goal.
GOAL: 7:15 WOODY –Big Ed raises his arm in the air “lovely goal lad!” As acid trip creep back into the game. The haymakers have controlled 21mins of play with 30 seconds of madness.
8:25 JONO riding fast has his arm straight out and extended and close lines Jamie. Emmet eager on the whistle blows for a re-set.
Emmet: Jono I’m watching you! Acid trip ball. Next time your off!

9:48: Robbie arrives and heckles Tim. He also steps in dog shit.
10:40 Nik Hamilton arrives and does a hello hump from behind to the refs (awkward)

GOAL 14:55 JONOAfter the second period the scores are 13-3 to the Haymakers after a small blip they recovered well with some clinical classic play.
Emmet: Rack em up game starts on 30 seconds! The quicker we get this done the quicker we play pick up!
0.50 Josh makes a great long court pass to Jono which opens up Acid Trip but shoots wide.

GOAL 13.30 JOSH21-3 to the haymakers. A good clean game with some great team play by both teams. The haymakers were clearly faster and stronger. They were able to open up the Acid Trip with some clever passes and even some blockage here and there. Jono was able to nullify their attacks and even turn them into goals on the break.
The ref team would like to thank the teams for an easy game to ref and the beer supplied it was most welcome if not a little late.
