  • This?

Because of its reactivity chlorine is not likely to move through the ground and enter groundwater.

Plants and animals are not likely to store chlorine. However, laboratory studies show that repeat exposure to chlorine in air can affect the immune system, the blood, the heart, and the respiratory system of animals.

    ?

  • Has anyone looked at post #7 yet?

  • Even if you 'kill' it you still need to remove it from the ground, a pressure washer and some hard brushes would be required to get the court clean and remove the moss Dead or Alive.

  • #7 would be great.

If my court was in my back garden. As it is it's at least 100m from the nearest water/electricity source, and that's a hotel which is only half-friendly and probably not willing to donate power/water.

Elbow grease and some kind of cheap/quick-acting/non-polluting chemical would be good.

Also, for the trolls, if this forum isn't for sharing this kind of knowledge between the tiny, fragmented scenes of a damp and slippy island, then what exactly is it for?

  • Hire a diesel powered pressure washer and water tank

  • #7 + #30 = the best solution, thanks max. Thread closed.

  • flamethrower.

  • Fuck yeah.

  • Beagly, you're ignoring this bit.

Chlorine causes environmental harm at low levels. Chlorine is especially harmful to organisms living in water and in soil.

I'm glad the ground water will be OK, but the chlorine will still be bad for the soil and animals and plants in it and any passing fishies in any courts that are surrounded by beautiful lakes and rivers, at least until they react and become sodium chloride or some kind of chlorinated organic compound, which in turn could well be toxic.

  • How close is the nearest river to the court? Lol... What animals? We are animals? What fish? Team Fish Sticks? Fish and Chippies? Passing fish in any court? You must be pretty drunk. Tap water in many countries contains chlorine including that of Malaysia and watering plants directly from the tap did not cause plants to wither. Yep it kills fishes but only if it is in a high enough concentration. It's a reactive substance and if it is that toxic it wouldn't be used as bleach.

  • Care to take a sip?

  • Just a little one.

    Beagle Chloriers?

  • Why is being a reactive substance a good thing in your eyes? (don't put it in your eyes) That just means it isn't stable for long, and becomes something else depending on what it's in contact with, what it becomes can also be pretty bad. There is plenty of chlorine floating about in water where it's less harmful, good for keeping the piss in swimming pools bearable, but pouring it onto a court and then washing or sweeping it to the edge in a reasonably concentrated amount where there is probably plant life and a bunch of horrible insects would not be good. The amount of chlorine in swimming pools needs to be closely monitored and it's massively more dilute than it would be if you were trying to kill moss with it.
    Pressure washer?

  • Who's talking about washing or sweeping it? Bloody put the solution in a spray and spray it on mate!

  • Or don't.

  • speak to the local council about them cleaning the courts
they must do it once a year
make it november the 6th when they do it

  • green really can turn gold.

  • A pressure washer seems harsh. I would just tell her to piss off.

  • Harsh but fair.

  • It was only a matter of time...

  • Fire engine.
