Man the flip up!This!!
Let's choose a starting point, for 7pm.
Then another pub, which we'll get to at 8.30pm.
Then a final pub, to arrive at 9.30pm.
The soluble people can come to the start or the end or whatever, everyone else gets to do a ride. If we get wet, well, even better, we can strip off and dry our clothes under the handdriers in the pub. I did it this morning at work and it worked fine.

This isn't true, last time I went to Manchester it was quite sunny. It was so notable that I took a photo of it.

Edit: let's have 2 plans.
If it's wet: Marble Arch > Fringe > Castle/Gullivers> PSBH > > Sandbar (very short route, near station for people cheating)
If it's dry: PSBH > ... > Oddest Chorlton > Pi > Hillary Step > Sandbar
I have no idea if there will be Guinness in any of these places but there will be some sort of dark beer/stout.

Can we start either route at one place, so we can set a definite start point? PSBH or marble arch?

This sounds like a plan. Looks like it'll be raining so it'll probably be the first route. But who knows, I'm checking BBC weather (source of all lies) so it may be scorchio and I'll be annoyed I didn't pack any sunblock.
I have a coffee machine in my possession now...
