Considering thr sport has been dogged for years by a lack of transparency, I think Sky owes cycling fans some answers on Henao. Imagine David Walsh will have an exclusive this Sunday.

Also interesting are GT contenders who won't be competing at all for 2 months before the Criterium du Dauphinee.

There is an inequality in the number of tests between riders due to their activilty, but why is this a problem? Does he just hate being tested? Does he think 'away' riders dope? Does he hate racing his bike and wish he was training for GTs?
The important thing is testing is effective but there will always be a compromise to fit around the lives of the riders, teams and testers. Testing at races is easier/cheaper/quicker/relevant, so they do more.
If the testers were less compromising there would be many more claims around 'fairness' from riders and how they endure far more intrusive testing than in other sports etc.

TBH I don't see why. Half the problem with Sky's PR is that they have set themselves up to be whiter than white in the murky world of pro-cycling. The details would just be white noise to be poured over the twaterrati and the clinic 12 and, depending on their agenda, they will draw dozens of different conclusions.
Haneo has always been a very talented rider, there's no suspicions transformations or spikes in performance, then drop offs. His palmares is solid going back through his time as a junior. He's been very able as a climbing domestique (mostly) for Sky, but there are plenty of times he went missing too, the Giro last year comes to mind. He's Columbian, who grew up at altitude, before this suspension he was pretty low on the old suspicion index. I think we need to sit this one out and see what happens.

It will be pored over regardless by cycling fans in chat rooms and every interview in the next few weeks will be dominated by it.
Why not say what the odd figures are and stop letting innuendo and suspicion look over the sport. There are very few other sports with this level of secrecy.

Because it will do nothing to stop this...

Okay - poorly chosen words. There are no other sports where a team member would get suspended (effectively) from competition with no explanation.
Anyway - picks for MSR?
Sagan is the obvious one but he keeps finishing second so I'm going to pick an outsider and say Alexander Kristoff. Some good results in the classics last year. I can't see many teams letting OPQS get over the Poggio with Cav in contact.

Is there a start list for MSR anywhere?

Wiggins (2009), Ryder Hesjedal (2012) and Horner (2013) have all released blood values, and all have been claimed to be suspicious. It accomplishes nothing, releasing power data or blood values. Those with agendas will interpret as they see fit.

Not saying Sky should release blood values but say what the issue is or leave it open to interpretation. One way or another, it will be in public domaine before MSR and then Catalunya starts.

Wiggins*–Stannard highspeed train to the seaside? That would be great.
- it looks like rain so this is probably very unlikey

this x100. People always see what they want to. It's up to the governing bodies to sort it out.
For the record - footballers are constantly pulled out of games or disappear in squads with little-to-no explanation (maybe a docs note that says "he's got a hurty leg" if you're lucky). All top level sport is murky as fuck, it's just that cycling has been dragged a little closer to the surface.

They don't understand the issue, hence why they are conducting research into it. They made that very clear I thought.
I bet you any figure you like that it won't be in the public domain by next Monday.

Henao has done nothing wrong so far.
Sky are unsure about something so have openly said they're investigating. As the research doesn't exist.
In interesting news, I'll be at the E3 next week. Sweet. Hoping to see it a few times hopping across the circuit. Should be sweet racing. Love me some classics.

I fucking love Milan-San Remo, La Primavera, first race of the spring, first monument of the season, and with the removal of La Pompaneia it's a race for the sprinters/puncheurs again. I'd love Cav to win but the other teams will do everything to dislodge him early on. Defending champion Ciolek will be heavily marked too, unlike last year where he got a bit of free ride as Canc and Sagan cancleed each other out.
However I'll go for more of an outside chance, Degenkolb, the distance and the lumps will suit him. Excited now, going to go out for a big ride tomorrow morning, then back in time to watch one of the greatest bike races on earth.

The last hour of Milan-San Remo is one of my favourite periods of the cycling season, as the race builds to a crescendo.
Remember it's on Sunday now though, Jimmy.

Denied
With Le Manie dropped from the revised route, Cavendish has an excellent chance. I would like to see Taylor Phinney win, but he is obviously an outside bet. The forecast is for rain.
