  • Good share. Makes me want to ride.

    115 bpm FFS

This makes me want to give up!

  • You tell Oleg that and he'll slap ya.

Or at least deride you a lot on Twitter

He might have money and a big mouth but I have class and a big.. oh.. nevermind.

Give up what? trying to be a pro cyclist?

  • 115 bpm FFS

Meaningless. What if his Max is 120? What if he sat on for the whole ride? Their average power is less than mine for the same distance they just weigh about 20kg less. And those lazy fucks don't have to spend all day on their arses in front of a computer to pay for their bikes. Fuck the genetically lucky.

  • Ride data

    Time: 13hrs 30min
    Distance: 403km
    elevation gain: 4500m
    Ave Power: 230watts
    Ave Heart rate: 115
    Kcal Burnt: 11400

Where do the 11000 calories come from? They don't seem to have eaten that much. How many calories can be stored in the body?

  • About 2500 kcal in muscle glycogen and a lot more in body fat.

  • They don't have much fat and he'd ridden a hundred miles the day before. I guess their bodies have just developed some remarkable abilities which even sleep deprived, morbidly obese time trialers can't imagine.

  • Developed? No. Lucky genetics.

  • Looking at his spelling of picturesque and descent will make you feel better though. You've got brainy genes and, of course, an inner beauty.

  • Inner torment.

    It's probably worms.

  • The body has enough fat to run for a LONG time, even if low body fat.
    You'd be amazed.

Plus the more you cycle, the better your body gets at running off fat.
Plus they will have eaten more.

The 115avg HR reflects they were riding super easy and that therefore they can just run off fat store.

  • Give up what? trying to be a pro cyclist?

Trying to be a pro cyclist yes.

He did post that from his phone after the ride.

Good for him, and for us watching... Expect down hill attacks from him and Evans perhaps?

  • Tour o Dubai TT today. Cool. Road bikes though!!

  • Herald Sun Tour too.

  • They usually only have road bikes over there.. because the teams are busy trying to decipher the raft of bullshit new rules the UCI have decided to implement. May not be true.

  • It's strange. Not like they couldn't afford to take TT bikes.

Maybe they don't want to give away TT positions at a race that isn't imporant.

    Odd.

  • It's a logistics decision, flying out 150 TT bikes plus wheels etc is too much for a 10km TT.

  • Yes, I considered that and I agree.
But then again, it's the world tour. Surly if they wanted too they could. Given they're probably all flying free an Emirates courtesy of Dubai.

  • None of the three middle east races are World Tour races, just training races. Because we've had no racing for months we clamour to see them, but come the end of March we'll struggle to remember who won any of them.

  • True.

  • Funny their homepage picture is someone on a TT bike.

If you're not going to let them bring TT bikes, don't have a TT.
