  • Shit.

Should of chosen the above £150k choice just to skew the results...

  • I used to make over £50k once - still some months with no money. Then £21k on a 3 year contract, with a wife at home, two teenagers and a baby. Then worked as a freelancer again on less money, but on a two weeks on - two weeks off basis. Couldn't qualify for a mortgage, because had no deposit really, had a sketchy credit file and was self-employed.
Now I earn nowt, but at least my parents own three properties. With the progress in modern medicine it can be a lenghty wait.

  • My toast is buttered by lemurs. Need I say more?

  • so who won ?

  • 25% on over £75k? London Fixed Gear and One Percenters.

Data should be cross referenced with how frequently you post on football thread.

  • What about all the trust funders?

  • So those at the bottom end ride cos they have to. Those at the top end ride cos 1) they can afford to, and 2) cos... I dunno, they care more abt the environment? They don't want to ride the tube with the riff raff? Or some jokers are skewing the figures.
The middle incomers are to busy keeping up with the Jones' to ride.

  • I have kept a list of the ever changing income-related reasons I ride a bike during my shift from student to bottom end to middle incomer.

  • I've ridden a bike since I earned £5 a week doing a paper round (actually I rode one from the age of 5), and for me it's normal, irrespective of how much I earn.

  • I'm in the bottom bracket (lol) but then I have a family to support me if I need it. Happy to say I have not had to ask my Dad for money for 5 years, but if I was broke I would always have somewhere to go. Though I'm not rich, I have always felt that I am privileged in this respect.

Riding a bike has little to do with money, for me. The amount I spend maintaining my three bikes, two of which get ridden alot in all weathers and often wear out, probably doesnt save me much in the end compared to a years travelcard or whatever. | ride a bike because I have always ridden a bike, it just wouldn't occur to me to do anything else.

  • My increased income is useful for covering my expensive bike habit

  • Im just waiting for a Pegoretti

  • At least I'm not saddled with debt, no thanks to Vince Cable, what is he doing about the housing shortage? I need to get my bearings before the economy goes freewheeling completely down the tubes, I don't want to end up a total dropout.

    These.

  • ^ Not really. Many are the stories to afford a first road bike.

  • Interesting results... fairly even spread.

  • Did Velocio not do this once?

That's what I thought, but I couldn't find the figures.

This, except for the paper round (country Oz distances don't really work for kids on bikes).

  • I am very rich and hold shares worth at least £10000 these earn me an income but its is taxed as a capital gain (actually its not because its in an isa wrapper)
For heaven's sake - If you are going to dissemble quite so flagrantly, at least make a small attempt at credibility.

Income on £10,000 (your figures) doesn't really add up to much now, does it? Even if your holdings double in value, your income would be £10,000.

Perhaps silicon value genius tommy meant to write "£100,000".

In which case, super-normal returns* might net you say, 10%.

So you'll be wanting to tick the box marked "between £13,124 - and £19,880". Or less.

    • I have every faith that you have the wherewithal and nouse to pick stocks better than anyone else in the market.Or perhaps you put your huge moneybags in the hands of a manager that doesn't mind playing with chump change, but is still paying alpha returns, Because they totally exist.
  • You really need another poll showing fixed costs in order to tell how broke people are. Rental cost/mortgage repayments & travel should at least be taken into account.

For example I am not in the lowest earning categories but still have no money at the end of the month because I pay extortionate amount of money on the train every month...

  • I'm not YouGov, it's not meant to be in depth or scientific. feel free to create your own poll if you feel that it's necessary.

  • It's not really something I'm interested in I was just trying to help; your OP says you want to see how "broke" people are but then only asks half the question. Which is obviously fine if you only wanted to know how much people earn.

  • UK average, which looks quite low on that list but I've just bought a house and live very comfortably. Maybe it's because I don't piss all my money down the shitter on Superdry coats and pints of Stella like every other cunt in this country

  • How would the masses cope without their Superfry coats though? Won't somebody think of the retailers!!!

  • This reminds me. Dropout owes me some dosh!
