... celebrating a very British take on the values of territory, sustainability and the joys of food and drink. The festival's pinnacle is on the 22nd June with our 'Great British Adventure' as we embrace the romantic idea of heroic cycling as it once was, placed alongside aspects of lifestyle, belonging and the Great British Countryside with a 3 route bike tour of The Peak District.
Really funny Italenglish. Territory? Aspects of lifestyle?
I can't stand dressing up.

Sounds like complete fucking bollocks.

No idea about "territory" and "sustainability" but for me a British take on "heroic cycling" suggests...um... time trialling...a miner or millworker lovingly fettling their pride and joy (all fixed gear of course) ready for a weekend on the hills...steaming breath on the track at dawn...pipe smoking frame-builders in gaslit workshops from Leeds to South London....cake...pints of brown flat beer....jumpers for goalposts. ..sorry what was I talking about again?
Still I see they've got the location right. Think I'll be there
-
• #8
I take it you can't ride it fixed?
-
• #9
Jumpers for goalposts made me chuckle.^^
-

Wool jerseys, alpaca tights.......
Of course you can ride it fixed, Jimmy, I'll be fitting a bigger block to my Gios as I've ridden there before!
Clearly written by a tree-hugging twat of a 'Creative', but I might well do this anyway. Paging Luckyskull.....

• #11
^^ Of course you can ride fixed it is just the date of your bike that matters
-
• #12
We were discussing this in Italy at the weekend.......(name drop)....
How much of the great british health and safety will be in force?
The possibilities are endless......discuss!

I've pre-registered. The first 500 places for £55.00 are gone but they've extended the offer till the end of today.
Looks like it will be a double L'Eroica for me in 2014. -
• #14
Pre-registered also... pretty local to me so will probably ride over or something equally stupid.
Now to plan a bike... -

Pre-registered me and the missus. If she does come I'll have to do the short ride with her though :-(
-
• #17
^ This. Although we (I'm) looking for a tandem for next year adventures so it could be fun.
-
• #18
Surely t'eroica? Sounds excellent fun but my missus is planning that we go ride in t'alps

Pre-regged, but not sure if I've got in under the deadline.
Mate's mum lives in Curbar so he's going to arrange a house swap for the weekend. Tidy.

In
(Out of the deadline though) -
• #21
Also in (within deadline). Now I have the perfect excuse to get yet another bike, as I don't currently have one that meets the rules.
-
• #22
And another pre-reg, next job is to turn the miscellaneous pile of 1970's bits I have collected, into a working bike.
-
• #23
Me and my 1986 Vitus have pre regsitered.
Do you think they'll get cross if I turn up with a front spokk?

It's meant to have period bikes and parts (i.e no brifters),
It says:
'Any registered cyclist who arrives at the start line or is found on the course with a bicycle that
does not conform to the rules and regulations of the event will be disqualified immediately'
as well as
'wheels must have at least 32 spokes with a low profile'
if I were you I'd just borrow a front wheel seeing as it probably isn't worth the riskhere are the rules and regs

I know really.
I haz proper wheels.
