  • I've decided it's wrong to go to France and not take my Croix de Fer up, Col de Croix de la Fer.

  • Skinny- is that a wired SRM?

If so then have a look at the recording time, from when I had a PC-V I think that you would struggle to get more than 8 hours recording (at 0.5/sec), so you may need to lengthen the recording interval, and also establish a way of clearing the memory every day or two.

If it's a PC-7 then ignore me- they have a massive memory.

  • Very good idea. I would go via the Col du Mollard.

Got a wirless & PC7 ;) For your reason mentioned.

  • Cool, just wanted to check even if it meant sounding silly- would suck to not have a record of such a nice trip.

  • Got 2 garmin 800s too. And power will be going onto them too. ;)

They've infinite memory if I can keep them charged.

    Would suck!!

  • And the Col de Parquetout should be fun. The gradients are written on the road. Have you been there? 18 % will be fun with luggage.

  • Nope. Not done it. Not much luggage!
39x32 should do it. If I'm training too.

  • While you are there it would be silly to miss the Gorges du Verdon.

  • 100kg all in about.

    74 me. Overweight and clothes
87 with bike and front back lights some tools.
100 front panniers and rear dry bag.

    Not bad.

  • Don't your thighs touch the bag on the back?

  • They might, I'll be teething for a few days.
    (Clearly didn't think about that)

  • I have found it hard sometimes to get screw top gas cylinders in France, (also other mainland European countries). I ended up getting an adapter that enables the use of the pierce able cylinders with a screw mount stove

  • At Portsmouth ferry terminal. Took 5.5h thanks too a brutal headwind!

Bike ride soo nice. Handles lovely, so stable when standing

    Edscoble approved mudguards are amazing!

39x32 might not be enough! Ha Can always pick up a compact.

Disc brakes are great. Set them up right!

  • Repped for innovative banana storage.

  • This is awesome. Especially the banana racks. Have fun.

  • Best of luck, James. Enjoy the trip.

  • I am loving the banana, seriously a brilliant location.

Don't forget to break the banana from the stem to prevent them from going off quickly!

Have an awesome ride James, you'll enjoy it.

  • Jealous!
    Have a great time.

  • Hmm, I feel more compelled to go touring in a couple weeks with my CdF as well.

  • You didn't sell it in the end then?

  • The Croix de Fer.
